Ramón Jáuregui will be sworn as new Yuste academic on Friday

Ramón Jáuregui Atondo will take office as a member of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste next Friday, 5 April, during a ceremony that will take place at the headquarters of the Presidency of the Regional Government of Extremadura.

This ceremony will be attended by, among other authorities, Rebeca Grynspan, Ibero-American Secretary General and Yuste academic; Marcelino Oreja, diplomat, politician, Yuste academic and Carlos V European Prize winner; Juan Carlos Rodríguez Ibarra, former president of the Regional Government of Extremadura and Yuste academic.

Ramón Jáuregui was appointed academic of this institution on 30 July last year by the Board of Trustees of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation. His appointment reinforces the double strand of the Yuste Academy, the European and the Latin American.

Ramón Jáuregui, who will occupy the Stefan Zweig chair, is currently an MEP and co-president of the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly (EuroLat) of the European Parliament. Jáuregui is a man with an extensive background who has held important positions, highlighting his commitment to the European integration process and his work to strengthen ties and relations between Europe and Latin America in order to progress in a shared agenda around the great common challenges in both regions.
