Cuban Researcher Alain J. Santos Fuentes Wins Yuste Foundation’s 2024 Research Prize to Ibero-American Doctoral Theses
The doctoral thesis La Constitución de Cádiz y la modernidad política en Cuba: actores, prácticas y conceptos (1810-1823), by Cuban Alain J. Santos Fuentes, was awarded the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation’s 2024 Research Prize to Ibero-American Doctoral Theses. The award ceremony took place within the framework of the 5th International Congress “Relations Between Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean: Economy and International Conflicts”, which was held on April 10th at the Royal Monastery of Santa María de Guadalupe.

Yuste Foundation Celebrates Europe Day Sending a Message of Union in the Face of Adversity
The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation commemorates Europe Day, which is celebrated every 9 May, through a compilation of videos and online actions grouped under the title “Committed to Europe”. These videos, which include different visions of politicians, academics, intellectuals, historians, researchers, students and representatives of civil society, will be broadcasted from today through the Foundation’s website, YouTube channel and social networks.

THE EUROPEAN MOVEMENT TAKES THE DEBATE ON THE CONFERENCE ON THE FUTURE OF EUROPE TO YUSTE
With the aim of promoting the previous debate and the willingness to participate in the Conference on the Future of Europe, the European Movement in Spain has organised two debate sessions with a hundred specialists and professionals on 6 and 7 March at the Royal Monastery of Yuste; where the Regional Advisory Council will meet for the first time to discuss the Conference, its objectives, content, scope, operation and structure, and the need to encourage the participation of organised civil society in order to strengthen the European project, to bring Europe closer to its citizens and the latter to their institutions.

The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation has received 55 applications for the delivery of ten European Research and Mobility Grants for European Studies, which are addressed to students who are working on their doctoral thesis in History, Political Science, Economy, Law and other disciplines of Social and Human Sciences, as well as other branches of science.

The President of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation’s Executive Committee and Director General of External Action of the Regional Government of Extremadura, Rosa Balas, presented the book Peace and European values as a potential model for integration and progress in a global world in Rome. This publication encompasses the research works of the ten researchers who were granted a Sofia Corradi, Mamma Erasmus-Carlos V European Award Research and Mobility Grant for European Studies.
