AN INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS WILL DELVE INTO THE POLYHEDRAL FIGURE OF HERNÁN CORTÉS

Medellín and Trujillo will become focal points in order to study the polyhedral figure of Hernán Cortés. Academicians and experts from both sides of the Atlantic will meet at the international congress “Hernán Cortés in the 21st century. 5th centenary of Cortés’ arrival in Mexico (1519-2019)”, organised by the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation and the Extremaduran Historical Federation.

The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation and the Jean Monnet Module on European Integration of the University of Extremadura have organised the course “Achievements and Limitations of 60 Years of European Integration”, inaugurated today at the Royal Monastery of Yuste, which is the Foundation’s head office. This course closes the Yuste Campus programme’s summer courses.

YUSTE CAMPUS TACKLES CONFLICT RESOLUTION FROM A GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE

The objective pursued in the course “Conflict resolution, peace, gender and development”, celebrated from the 11th to the 13th of July at the Royal Monastery of Yuste, is to tackle strategies -from a global approach and with local practices- in order to make progress in the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal 16, which seeks to promote just, peaceful and inclusive societies.

The call for proposals to be eligible for ten “Carlos V European Award” European Research and Mobility Grants for European Studies is now open

The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation offers ten “Carlos V European Award European Research and Mobility Grants for European Studies” in order to carry out research work on “The European project’s modernisation and governance in a plural framework with shared values and goals”. The grants deal with European history, memory and integration, where the framework and priority is the profile of the awarded person, institution, project or initiative in each edition with the Carlos V European Award. Those eligible for one of the grants may propose innovative research lines referring to the main subject of the call, bearing in mind the specific and cross-sectional priorities of the call.

YUSTE CAMPUS ANALYSES THE CONFLICTS ORIGINATED AT BOTH SIDES OF THE ATLANTIC IN TIMES OF CHARLES V

To analyse the binomial war-peace at both sides of the Atlantic during the reign of Charles V; this is the reason why international academicians and experts meet from today until 6 July, in Yuste, in order to carry out the course “Charles V: War and Peace on Both Sides of the Atlantic”. Organised by the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation and the Cooperation Network of European Routes of Emperor Charles V of the Council of Europe in collaboration with the Regional Government of Extremadura, this course will also attempt to study the perception that the actors of those conflicts had and the consequences they caused in the politics of the time.
