Erasmus (officially known since 2014 as \u00abErasmus Plus\u00bb) is a large-scale programme created in 1987 by the European Union. Until 2017, thanks to the Erasmus programme, five million students have been able to carry out exchanges during one or two semesters of study abroad in four thousand European higher education institutions, with full recognition of credits obtained abroad as a necessary part of obtaining the diploma in their home institutions. The Erasmus Plus programme also provides for the possibility of granting a certain degree of mobility to teachers, professionals, employers and workers. This will be possible thanks to the fact that in the period 2014-2020 the European Union increased by 45% the budget of the programme, which currently has a total of 15 thousand million euros, approximately the equivalent of almost 16 thousand million US dollars. It also aims to extend the programme to non-EU countries. This book reveals some of the secrets of how Erasmus came about even before it was Erasmus, and gives us clues for the programme to continue to expand in the future. One of the dreams that Sofia Corradi, Mamma Erasmus, confessed to us is that she would like the Programme to become a reality in Ibero-America as well.<\/p>\n

Erasmus (denominado oficialmente desde 2014 como \u00abErasmus Plus\u00bb) es un programa a gran escala creado en 1987 por la Uni\u00f3n Europea. Hasta el a\u00f1o 2017, gracias al programa Erasmus, cinco millones de estudiantes han podido realizar intercambios durante uno o dos semestres de estudio en el extranjero en cuatro mil instituciones europeas de educaci\u00f3n superior, con pleno reconocimiento de los cr\u00e9ditos obtenidos en el extranjero como parte\u00a0necesaria para obtener el t\u00edtulo en sus instituciones de origen. El programa Erasmus Plus tambi\u00e9n contempla la posibilidad de conceder cierto grado de movilidad para profesores, profesionales, empresarios y trabajadores. Esto ser\u00e1 posible gracias a que en el periodo 2014-2020 la Uni\u00f3n Europea aument\u00f3 un 45% el presupuesto del programa, que actualmente cuenta con un total de 15 mil millones de euros, aproximadamente el equivalente a casi 16 millones de d\u00f3lares estadounidenses. Adem\u00e1s, tiene el objetivo de ampliar el programa a pa\u00edses no pertenecientes a la Uni\u00f3n Europea. Este libro nos desvela parte de los secretos de c\u00f3mo se gest\u00f3 Erasmus incluso antes de ser Erasmus, y nos da pistas para que el programa se siga ampliando en el futuro. Uno de los sue\u00f1os que nos confes\u00f3 Sof\u00eda Corradi, Mamma Erasmus, es que le gustar\u00eda que el Programa fuera tambi\u00e9n una realidad en Iberoam\u00e9rica.<\/p>
