The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation\u2019s Board of Trustees and its team regret the death of the Luxembourgian historian Gilbert Trausch, member of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste since 2000, when he held the Arias Montano Chair during the Carlos V European Award ceremony, where Felipe Gonz\u00e1lez received the prize. Gilbert Trausch was a renowned historian due to his work on European history as may be appreciated in the book Europa. L’id\u00e9e et l’identit\u00e9 europ\u00e9ennes, de l’Antiquit\u00e9 grecque au XXIe si\u00e8cle<\/em>, which he wrote along with the historians Michel Dumoulin and \u00c9ric Bussi\u00e8re and was edited by Yuste Foundation and the publisher FondsMercator.<\/strong><\/p>\n

His great relation with the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste should be noted as he became its director. He, furthermore, directed the European Academy of Yuste\u2019s Declaration on the Future of Europe, and coordinated Yuste\u2019s Declarations \u201cEurope in View of Demographic Ageing\u201d, \u201cThe Citizen\u2019s and Social Europe\u201d and \u201cEurope, a Culture for Solidarity\u201d.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, Gilbert Trausch has also been a member of the jury in several editions of the Carlos V European Award; member of the \u201cRevista de Cultura y Pensamiento Europeo Pliegos de Yuste\u2019s\u201d Advisory Board, published by the Foundation; member of the Foundation\u2019s Advisory Board and he played an active role in the different activities organised by the Foundation.<\/p>\n

The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation\u2019s Board of Trustees, the members of the Academy and the Foundation\u2019s team regret the great loss for European culture of a great person, intellectual and convinced Europeanist.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

El Patronato y el equipo de la Fundaci\u00f3n Academia Europea e Iberoamericana de Yuste lamentan el fallecimiento del historiador luxemburgu\u00e9s, Gilbert Trausch, miembro de la Academia Europea e Iberoamericana de Yuste desde el a\u00f1o 2000. Trausch tom\u00f3 posesi\u00f3n del sill\u00f3n Arias Montano durante la ceremonia de entrega del Premio Europeo Carlos V a Felipe Gonz\u00e1lez.<\/strong><\/p>

Gilbert Trausch ha sido un historiador muy reconocido por sus trabajos sobre la historia de Europa, como el libro \"Europa: el pensamiento y la identidad europea de la antigua Grecia hasta el siglo XXI\", escrito junto a los historiadores Michel Dumoulin y \u00c9ric Bussi\u00e8re, editado por la Fundaci\u00f3n Yuste y la editorial Fonds Mercator.<\/p>

Tuvo gran relaci\u00f3n con la Academia Europea e Iberoamericana de Yuste, llegando a ser su director. Adem\u00e1s dirigi\u00f3 la Declaraci\u00f3n de la Academia Europea de Yuste sobre el Futuro de Europa, coordinando tambi\u00e9n las Declaraciones de Yuste \"Europa ante el Envejecimiento demogr\u00e1fico\", \u201cLa Europa Social y de los Ciudadanos\u201d y \u201cEuropa, una cultura para la solidaridad\u201d.<\/p>

Por otra parte, Gilbert Trausch fue miembro del jurado en varias ediciones del Premio Europeo Carlos V, miembro del consejo asesor de la \u2018Revista de Cultura y Pensamiento Europeo Pliegos de Yuste\u2019, que edita la Fundaci\u00f3n, miembro del Consejo Asesor de la Fundaci\u00f3n y muy activo en las diferentes actividades que organiza la Fundaci\u00f3n.<\/p>

El Patronato, los miembros de la Academia y todo el equipo de la Fundaci\u00f3n Academia Europea e Iberoamericana de Yuste lamentan esta enorme p\u00e9rdida para la cultura europea de una gran persona, intelectual y un europe\u00edsta convencido.<\/p><\/div>
