The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation and the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB) have organised the international seminar \u201cLatin American and the European Union Relations: a Renewed Political Alliance?\u201d), which will be held the 25th and the 26th of June at the Royal Monastery of Yuste Foundation, which is the Foundation\u2019s headquarters. The course is sponsored by the European Union \u2013 Latin America and Caribbean Foundation (EU-LAC Foundation).<\/p>\n
The seminar opens on Monday, 25 June at 09:00 am with the participation of the Ibero-American Secretary General, Rebeca Grynspan; The Executive Director of the EU-LAC Foundation, Paola Amadei; the Director General of External Action of the Regional Government of Extremadura and President of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation\u2019s Executive Commission, Rosa Balas; the Mayor of Cuacos de Yuste, Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Garc\u00eda Hern\u00e1ndez and the Director of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation, Juan Carlos Moreno Pi\u00f1ero.<\/p>\n
The seminar will count with the participation of personalities from Latin America and Europe – coming from different countries and having different areas of specialization – where transdisciplinary approaches will be carried out, diverse in perspectives as in experiences that always provide a Latin American and European vision. In this sense, the former Colombian Finance Minister and economist, Guillermo Perry; the former Argentinean Minister of Economy, Jos\u00e9 Luis Machinea; the President of the Institute for the Promotion of Latin America and the Caribbean (IPDAL), Paolo Neves; PhD in Political Science by the Complutense University and Master\u2019s degree in International Relations by the United Nations’ University for Peace, Jos\u00e9 Antonio Sanahuja Perales and the person in charge of Oxfam Intermon\u2019s Policy for Latin America and the Caribbean, Andrea Costafreda, among other experts and academicians, will attend.<\/p>\n
The seminar will analyse the economic growth that different regions are experiencing and how this fact presents challenges from the economic as well as the geopolitical point of view. In this framework, the current condition of the relations between the European Union and Latin America and how they are expected to evolve will be analysed. In this sense, some of the subjects that will be dealt with are growth challenges of both world regions; the relations between Latin America and Europe in a world of constant change; the process made after the Paris Memorandum and the G-20 Agenda in Argentina, apart from the possibilities to strengthen trade relations between Europe and Latin America.<\/p>\n

La Fundaci\u00f3n Academia Europea e Iberoamericana de Yuste junto con la Secretar\u00eda General Iberoamericana (SEGIB) han organizado el seminario internacional \u2018Las relaciones Am\u00e9rica Latina-Uni\u00f3n Europea en un mundo incierto, \u00bfuna alianza pol\u00edtica renovada?\u2019 que se impartir\u00e1 los d\u00edas 25 y 26 de junio en el Real Monasterio de Yuste, sede de la Fundaci\u00f3n. El curso cuenta con el patrocinio de la Fundaci\u00f3n Uni\u00f3n Europea-Am\u00e9rica Latina y El Caribe (Fundaci\u00f3n EU-LAC).<\/p>
El seminario se inaugurar\u00e1 el lunes, d\u00eda 25 a las 09.00 horas con la intervenci\u00f3n de la Secretaria General Iberoamericana, Rebeca Grynspan; la directora ejecutiva de EU-LAC, Paola Amadei; la directora general de Acci\u00f3n Exterior de la Junta de Extremadura y presidenta de la Comisi\u00f3n Ejecutiva de la Fundaci\u00f3n Yuste, Rosa Balas; el alcalde de Cuacos de Yuste, Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Garc\u00eda Hern\u00e1ndez, y el director de la Fundaci\u00f3n Academia Europea e Iberoamericana de Yuste, Juan Carlos Moreno Pi\u00f1ero.<\/p>
El seminario contar\u00e1 con la participaci\u00f3n de personalidades de Am\u00e9rica Latina y Europa provenientes de distintos pa\u00edses y especialidades, procur\u00e1ndose enfoques transdisciplinarios, diversos tanto en perspectivas como en experiencias que aporten siempre una visi\u00f3n latinoamericana y otra europea. Para ello, asistir\u00e1 el exministro de Hacienda de Colombia y economista, Guillermo Perry; el exministro de Econom\u00eda de Argentina, Jos\u00e9 Luis Machinea; el presidente del Instituto para la Promoci\u00f3n de Am\u00e9rica Latina y Portugal (IPDAL), Paolo Neves; el doctor en Ciencias Pol\u00edticas por la Universidad Complutense y Master en Relaciones Internacionales por la Universidad para la Paz de Naciones Unidas, Jos\u00e9 Antonio Sanahuja Perales, y la responsable de Policy de Oxfam Intermon para Am\u00e9rica Latina y El Caribe, Andrea Costafreda, entre otros expertos y acad\u00e9micos.<\/p>
El curso analizar\u00e1 el crecimiento econ\u00f3mico que est\u00e1n experimentando las distintas regiones, y c\u00f3mo este factor presenta desaf\u00edos tanto desde el punto de vista econ\u00f3mico como del geopol\u00edtico. En este marco, se analizar\u00e1 c\u00f3mo se encuentra y c\u00f3mo se estima que evolucionar\u00e1n las relaciones entre la Uni\u00f3n Europea y Am\u00e9rica Latina. As\u00ed, algunos de los temas que se tratar\u00e1n son los desaf\u00edos de crecimiento de ambas regiones del mundo, las relaciones entre Am\u00e9rica Latina y Europa en un mundo en constante cambio; los avances surgidos tras el Acuerdo de Par\u00eds y la agenda del G-20 en Argentina, adem\u00e1s de las posibilidades para fortalecer las relaciones comerciales entre Europa y Am\u00e9rica Latina.<\/p>
