“The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation and National Heritage organise a concert given by the group \u2018Musica Ficta\u2019, founded and conducted by Ra\u00fal Mallavibarrena, which will interpret the programme entitled \u2018Carolus. M\u00fasica para una corte espa\u00f1ola de los Austrias\u2019 (Music for a Spanish Habsburg court), dealing with the first half of the 16th<\/sup> century. The concert will be held on Saturday 22 May, at 13:00 pm, at the Royal Monastery of Yuste\u2019s church.<\/p>\n

The Foundation intends to recall the date of Charles V\u2019s death at the Royal Monastery of Yuste with this programme, a historical event that took place on 21 February 1558. This is why the musical programme goes through composers, whether Spanish or foreigners, who left us their music during the decades when Charles V was king of Spain, since his arrival in Asturias\u00a0 in 1516 until he retired in Yuste.<\/p>\n

The group \u2018Musica Ficta\u2019 interprets ancient music since it was founded in 1992 by Ra\u00fal Mallavibarrena. This national ensemble has performed in the most important Spanish festivals as in Norway, Germany, United Kingdom, Egypt, Argentina, USA, China, etc. They have recorded 22 CDs and have had critical acclaim and won important awards. They have carried out the first world recording of Francisco Guerrero\u2019s \u2018Villanescas Espirituales\u2019 and in 2017 a new recording of \u2018Requiem de Victoria\u2019 was released to celebrate the group\u2019s 25th<\/sup> anniversary. Musica Ficta is founder member of the Asociaci\u00f3n de Grupos Espa\u00f1oles de M\u00fasica Antigua (GEMA) (Association of Early Music Spanish Groups).<\/p>\n

Ra\u00fal Mallavibarrena is specialized in repertoire from the 15th<\/sup> to the 18th<\/sup> century; he has conducted concerts in some of the mostimportant festivals in Spain, as in other European countries, the Middle East, United States, Asia, and Ibero-America with repertoire that goes from the Middle Ages to baroque zarzuelas and operas by Vivaldi, and a wide European Renaissance repertoire. He is often invited to give lessons and master classes in different universities and specialized centres and to collaborate with Teatro Real of Madrid.<\/p>\n

The Emperor\u2019s Concerts Cycle<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 1997 the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation initiated a series of concerts with the aim of establishing a musical cycle related to the period of Charles V in Extremadura, thereby proclaiming the European cultural heritage and its history as the main driving force of the process of European culture and integration.<\/p>\n

This year the cycle of the Emperor\u2019s Concerts was inaugurated on 26 May with the performance of the male vocal quintet \u2018Ensemble Nobiles\u2019 from Leipzig (Germany). Its programme included some parts of the \u2018Messe de Nostre Dame\u2019, by Guillaume de Machaut, the most ancient mass resulting from the pen of a single composer; the group \u2018Collegium Musicum Madrid\u2019 performed on 16 June with the programme entitled \u201cTodos los bienes del mundo en el 550 aniversario del nacimineto de Juan del Encina\u201d, as a commemoration of the playwright and singer from Zamora\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

La Fundaci\u00f3n Academia Europea e Iberoamericana de Yuste organiza junto con Patrimonio Nacional un concierto a cargo del grupo \u2018Musica Ficta\u2019, fundado y dirigido por Ra\u00fal Mallavibarrena, que interpretar\u00e1 el programa titulado \u2018Carolus. M\u00fasica para una corte espa\u00f1ola de los Austrias\u2019, centrado en la primera mitad del siglo XVI. El concierto se celebrar\u00e1 en la iglesia del Real Monasterio de Yuste el s\u00e1bado, d\u00eda 22 de mayo, a las 13.00 horas.<\/p>

Con este programa, la Fundaci\u00f3n pretende recordar la fecha del fallecimiento de Carlos V en el Real Monasterio de Yuste, hecho hist\u00f3rico ocurrido el 21 de febrero de 1558. Por ello, el programa musical es un recorrido por los compositores que, bien espa\u00f1oles o extranjeros, dejaron su m\u00fasica en las d\u00e9cadas en las que Carlos V fue rey de Espa\u00f1a, desde su llegada a Asturias en 1516 hasta su retiro en Yuste.<\/p>

El grupo \u2018Musica Ficta\u2019 interpreta m\u00fasica antigua desde su fundaci\u00f3n en 1992 de la mano de Ra\u00fal Mallavibarrena. Ha actuado en los m\u00e1s importantes festivales nacionales as\u00ed como en Noruega, Alemania, Reino Unido, Egipto, Argentina, Estados Unidos, China, etc. Cuenta con veintid\u00f3s grabaciones y ha cosechado importantes premios y menciones. Han realizado la primera grabaci\u00f3n mundial de las \u2018Villanescas Espirituales\u2019, de Francisco Guerrero; en 2017 apareci\u00f3 su nueva grabaci\u00f3n del \u2018Requiem de Victoria\u2019 para conmemorar los 25 a\u00f1os de la fundaci\u00f3n del grupo. El grupo es miembro fundador de la Asociaci\u00f3n de Grupos Espa\u00f1oles de M\u00fasica Antigua (GEMA).<\/p>

Ra\u00fal Mallavibarrena est\u00e1 especializado en el repertorio de los siglos XV al XVIII; ha dirigido conciertos en los principales festivales de Espa\u00f1a, as\u00ed como en otros pa\u00edses de Europa, Oriente Medio, Estados Unidos, Asia e Iberoam\u00e9rica con temas que van desde la m\u00fasica medieval hasta zarzuelas barrocas y \u00f3peras de Vivaldi, pasando por el m\u00e1s amplio repertorio renacentista europeo. Es invitado regularmente a impartir cursos y conferencias en diversas universidades y centros especializados, as\u00ed como colaboraciones para el Teatro Real de Madrid.<\/p>

Ciclo de Conciertos del Emperador<\/strong><\/p>

La Fundaci\u00f3n Academia Europea e Iberoamericana de Yuste inici\u00f3 en el a\u00f1o 1997 un conjunto de conciertos con el objetivo de arraigar en Extremadura un ciclo musical relacionado con la \u00e9poca de Carlos V, reivindicando de esta forma el patrimonio cultural europeo y su historia como principal motor del proceso de construcci\u00f3n e integraci\u00f3n europea.<\/p>

Este a\u00f1o, el ciclo de Conciertos del Emperador se inaugur\u00f3 el 26 de mayo con la actuaci\u00f3n del quinteto vocal masculino \u2018Ensemble Nobiles\u2019 de Leipzig (Alemania), cuyo programa inclu\u00eda algunas partes de la \u2018Messe de Nostre Dame\u2019 de Guillaume de Machaut, la misa m\u00e1s antigua escrita por un \u00fanico compositor; el 16 de junio actu\u00f3 la agrupaci\u00f3n \u2018Collegium Musicum Madrid\u2019 con el programa titulado \u2018Todos los bienes del mundo en el 550 aniversario del nacimiento de Juan del Encina\u2019, como conmemoraci\u00f3n del fallecimiento del autor teatral y cantante zamorano.<\/p>
