The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation closed its Yuste Campus programme with great success, as far as participation is concerned, having received 554 applications for the eight courses offered and granted 230 grants through a process of competitive concurrence. 44 participants have, moreover, registered as listeners.<\/p>\n
Apart from a notable increase in the submission of applications compared to previous years, the number of Spanish and European universities participating have also grown, as is the case of the following: the universities of Extremadura, Complutense of Madrid, Granada, the Distance University of Madrid (UDIMA), Salamanca, Sioi and Unitelma Sapienza (Italy), Valencia, Rey Juan Carlos, Burgos, Pablo de Olavide (Seville), Coimbra (Portugal), the National University of Distance Education (UNED), the Diplomatic School of Spain, Barcelona, the Autonomous University of Madrid, Seville, Granada, Valencia, Crlos III, Polytechnic of Madrid, the New University of Lisbon, the Institut d\u2019etudes Politiques de Paris, Basque Country, Valladolid or Ja\u00e9n. The diversity of nationalities of those attending the course: from Spain, Portugal, Romania, Mexico, Haiti, Brazil, Cuba, Peru, Colombia, United Kingdom, Venezuela, Ecuador, Russia, Guatemala, Belgium and Argentina, adds to this fact.<\/p>\n
The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation has counted with more than 90 experts, professors and professionals coming from European and American universities, international bodies, such as the European Parliament or United Nations, and\u00a0 from the world of business and institutions in the development of the contents of the eight courses integrated in Yuste Campus. Some of the attendees have been: the Ibero-American General Secretary, Rebeca Grynspan; UNESCO’s former Director General, Federico Mayor Zaragoza; the European Parliament\u2019s former President, Enrique Bar\u00f3n; the former Minister of Foreign Affairs and current President of the Spanish SDGs Network, Miguel \u00c1ngel Moratinos; the former Finance Minister of Colombia, Guillermo Perry; the Executive Director of EU-LAC, Paola Amadei; Argentina’s former Economy Minister, Jos\u00e9 Luis Machinea; Professor of Constitutional Law at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Teresa Freixes; the Director of the Interbational Agency EFE, Jos\u00e9 Maunel Sanz; the Deputy Director of El Pa\u00eds, Xavier Vidal-Folch, and the Director of the United Nations\u2019 Fund for Sustainable Development, Paloma Dur\u00e1n, among others.<\/p>\n
Yuste Foundation developed the programme Yuste Campus in 2014 in order to create an international debate and reflection forum to tackle main current issues and global challenges at the Royal Monastery of Yuste, giving particular emphasis to current European and Ibero-American issues and issues related to European and Ibero-American history and memory, among others. This is why several subjects of general interest, such as relations between the EU and America, going through the priority that Sustainable Development Goals imply at global and regional level; the challenges of the European Union in different areas and the role played by women in the peace process and in conflict resolution are analysed every year, not forgetting Emperor Charles V, who lived and died in Yuste. In this sense, Yuste Campus\u2019 main aim is to carry out courses and specialised meetings which aim at fostering debate and reflection among university students, researchers and professionals from a multidisciplinary point of view in order to enable contact and the exchange of knowledge among students and speakers. They will share reflections with subject matter experts and academic, political or social first-class personalities, ultimately being a space for reflection, thought, culture and science.<\/p>\n

La Fundaci\u00f3n Academia Europea e Iberoamericana de Yuste ha clausurado su programa Campus Yuste con gran \u00e9xito de participaci\u00f3n, recibiendo 554 solicitudes para los ocho cursos ofertados, concedi\u00e9ndose 230 becas mediante proceso de concurrencia competitiva. Asimismo, se han matriculado como oyentes 44 participantes.<\/p>
Adem\u00e1s del notable incremento de solicitudes con respecto a a\u00f1os anteriores, tambi\u00e9n ha crecido el n\u00famero de universidades espa\u00f1olas y europeas participantes como las de Extremadura, Complutense de Madrid, Granada, Universidad a Distancia de Madrid (UDIMA), Salamanca, Sioi y Unitelma Sapienza (Italia), Valencia, Rey Juan Carlos, Burgos, Pablo de Olavide (Sevilla), Coimbra (Portugal), UNED, Escuela Diplom\u00e1tica de Espa\u00f1a, Barcelona, Aut\u00f3noma de Madrid, Sevilla, Granada, Valencia, la Universidad Carlos III, Polit\u00e9cnica de Madrid, la Universidad Nueva de Lisboa, UNED, el Institut d'\u00e9tudes Politiques de Paris, Pa\u00eds Vasco, Valladolid o Ja\u00e9n. A este dato se une la diversidad de las nacionalidades de los asistentes llegados desde Espa\u00f1a, Italia, Portugal, Ruman\u00eda, M\u00e9xico, Hait\u00ed, Brasil, Cuba, Per\u00fa, Colombia, Reino Unido, Venezuela, Ecuador, Rusia, Guatemala, B\u00e9lgica y Argentina.<\/p>
Para el desarrollo de los contenidos de los ocho cursos integrados en Campus Yuste, la Fundaci\u00f3n Yuste ha contado con m\u00e1s de 90 expertos, profesores y profesionales procedentes de universidades europeas y americanas, de organismos internacionales como el Parlamento Europeo o Naciones Unidas, y del mundo de la empresa e instituciones. Entre otros, este a\u00f1o han pasado la secretaria general Iberoamericana, Rebeca Grynspan; el exdirector general de la UNESCO, Federico Mayor Zaragoza; el expresidente del Parlamento Europeo, Enrique Bar\u00f3n; el exministro de Asuntos Exteriores y actual presidente de la Red Espa\u00f1ola de los ODS, Miguel \u00c1ngel Moratinos; el exministro de Hacienda de Colombia, Guillermo Perry; la directora ejecutiva de la Fundaci\u00f3n EU-LAC, Paula Amadei; el exministro de Econom\u00eda de Argentina, Jos\u00e9 Luis Machinea; la catedr\u00e1tica de Derecho Constitucional de la Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Barcelona, Teresa Freixes; el director de Internacional de la Agencia EFE, Jos\u00e9 Manuel Sanz; el director adjunto de El Pa\u00eds, Xavier Vidal-Folch, y la directora del Fondo de Naciones Unidas para el Desarrollo Sostenible, Paloma Dur\u00e1n.<\/p>
La Fundaci\u00f3n Yuste cre\u00f3 el programa Campus Yuste en 2014 con la idea de crear en el Real Monasterio de Yuste un foro internacional de debate y reflexi\u00f3n para abordar los principales temas de actualidad y retos globales, haciendo especial hincapi\u00e9 en asuntos de actualidad europea e iberoamericana, temas relacionados con la historia y la memoria de Europa e Iberoam\u00e9rica, entre otros. Por ello, cada a\u00f1o se analizan diversos temas de inter\u00e9s general como las relaciones entre la UE y Am\u00e9rica, pasando por la prioridad que los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible suponen a nivel global y regional, los retos de la Uni\u00f3n Europea en diferentes \u00e1mbitos, el papel de las mujeres en los procesos de paz y en la resoluci\u00f3n de conflictos, sin olvidar al emperador Carlos V, quien vivi\u00f3 y muri\u00f3 en Yuste. En este sentido, Campus Yuste tiene como objetivo desarrollar cursos y encuentros especializados dirigidos a fomentar el debate y la reflexi\u00f3n de los universitarios, investigadores y profesionales desde un punto de vista multidisciplinar para facilita el contacto e intercambio de conocimiento entre los alumnos y los ponentes que compartir\u00e1n reflexiones con expertos en la materia y personalidades de primer nivel acad\u00e9mico, pol\u00edtico o social, siendo en definitiva, un espacio para la reflexi\u00f3n, el pensamiento, la cultura y la ciencia.<\/p>
