The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation organises the International Seminar \u201cThe Peace Process and Constitutional Transitions in Colombia\u201d from the 8th<\/sup> to the 9th<\/sup> of October, at the Law Faculty of the University of Extremadura, C\u00e1ceres.<\/p>\n Once the Final Agreement between the FARC-EP guerrillas and the Colombian State has been signed, a period of peace construction begins in order to put an end to an armed conflict that has lasted 52 years and has left more than 8 million direct victims behind, among cases of displacement, homicides, forced disappearances, tortures and secrets. The peace process is the first means that intends to include all international standards in terms of transactional justice and entails a significant reform of the Colombian legal order in order to comply with the measures envisaged in the Agreement, including the introduction of a transitory title of the 1991 Constitution and a determination to introduce development in territories that have suffered the abandonment of the State.<\/p>\n This seminar tackles the innovations that the Colombian process implies in the transitions to reach peace as well as the problems and challenges it poses. El proceso de paz es el primero que pretende incluir todos los est\u00e1ndares internacionales en materia de justicia transaccional y supone una importante reforma del ordenamiento jur\u00eddico colombiano para cumplir las medidas previstas en el acuerdo, incluyendo la introducci\u00f3n de un t\u00edtulo transitorio de la Constituci\u00f3n de 1991 y una apuesta por llevar el desarrollo a los territorios que han sufrido el abandono del Estado.<\/p> Este seminario aborda las innovaciones que el proceso colombiano supone en las transiciones hacia la paz, pero tambi\u00e9n los problemas y desaf\u00edos que plantea.
