The symposium will open at 9:00 am on Thursday, at the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature<\/p>\n

The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation and the University of Extremadura have organised the \u201c2nd<\/sup> International Symposium for Young Researchers. Extremadura and America\u201d, which will take place in the region on 25 and 26 October in order to provide a space for new lines of research that young Americanist doctors and doctorate candidates are developing.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This symposium has an itinerant nature. The morning session on Thursday will thus take place at the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature, in C\u00e1ceres, The speakers, lecturers and those enrolled in the course will then travel to Trujjillo, where the afternoon session will take place at the Barrantes-Cervantes Palace. The session on Friday has been programmed entirely at the Congress and Cultural Centre of Guadalupe.<\/p>\n

Some of the main aims of this symposium are: to delve into the interaction that has existed between Extremadura and America for the past five centuries; to prioritize the research work that has studied this relation -a relation that has been shaping a new historical reality in both areas and is found in a cultural and material heritage in many common cases-; to make progress in studies on migratory flows between Extremadura and America and to offer a space for debate having as an essential premise the participation of young researchers in the field of American History.<\/p>\n

This symposium is based on the lectures and presentations delivered by young researchers coming from different university and research centres from Spain, Italy, Portugal, Mexico or Peru, such as the University of Extremadura; the University of Seville; the University of Pa\u00eds Vasco; the Complutense University of Madrid; the Autonomous University of Madrid; the University of Pablo de Olavide; the National University of Distance Education; Universit\u00e1 degli Studi di Milano; Universit\u00e0 di Urbino \u2018CarloBo\u2019\/CEHR; Universida de Cat\u00f3lica Portuguesa de Lisboa; the Dr. Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Luis Mora Research Institute; the Main National University of San Marcos in Peru; the Francisco de Vitoria University; and the Distance University of Madrid-UDIMA, among other institutions.<\/p>\n

The symposium is conducted in collaboration with the Obra P\u00eda de los Pizarro Foundation, the City Council of Guadalupe, Troop N\u00ba1 Training Centre (CEFOT) and the Spanish Association of Americanists.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>To complement the programme of the symposium the exhibition \u201cAllende el mar: el camino transatl\u00e1ntico de la literatura en espa\u00f1ol\u201d may be visited in the hall of the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature of the University of Extremadura.<\/p>\n

This sample, coordinated by the Modern Art Centre of Madrid, intends to reflect the strength and capacity of the Spanish language to create bridges between the literary and editorial world of the different countries that speak it.<\/p>\n

Extremadura y Am\u00e9rica\u2019 que se va desarrollar en la regi\u00f3n, los d\u00edas 25 y 26 de octubre pr\u00f3ximos, con el fin de proporcionar un espacio a las nuevas l\u00edneas de investigaci\u00f3n que est\u00e1n desarrollando los j\u00f3venes doctores y doctorandos americanistas.\r\n\r\nEste simposio tendr\u00e1 un car\u00e1cter itinerante. As\u00ed, la jornada matinal del jueves se desarrollar\u00e1 en la Facultad de Filosof\u00eda y Letras, en C\u00e1ceres; seguidamente, los ponentes, conferenciantes y matriculados se desplazar\u00e1n hasta Trujillo, donde, en el Palacio de los Barrantes-Cervantes, tendr\u00e1 lugar la sesi\u00f3n vespertina.
