From the 21st<\/sup> to the 22nd<\/sup> of February, 2019, at the Official College of Pharmacists of Badajoz<\/strong><\/p>\n

The European humanistic society harmonized classic culture, Christianism and new knowledge provided by Neoplatonist naturalists and thinkers during the 16th<\/sup> century. The Flemish tapestries of the time are an exceptional witness of the blending between the Mythological, Christian, Emblematic and Scientific cultures, among others.<\/p>\n

In Extremadura, the Cathedral of Badajoz offers a set of tapestries that present the ideal of rational love, from Apollo, Artemis, Penelope, Ulysses \u2026 onwards, and the theological and cardinal virtues \u2026 research work on this artistic set serves as a context enabling a chosen group of specialists to share their knowledge with us and with all those who may join us from abroad.<\/p>\n

The connection between this International Encounter and the Faculty of Science of Badajoz\u2019s 50th<\/sup> Anniversary is a great coincidence in time. This Faculty was founded in 1968 and has promoted a study of these Flemish tapestries. Relevant people of this institution have strongly contributed to make this International Encounter of experts in tapestries possible in our city.<\/p>\n
