The German vocal group Singer Pur will close the Emperor Concerts\u2019 Cycle, organised by the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation and National Heritage. The programme, entitled \u201cVoces alemanas y m\u00fasica hispana en un di\u00e1logo de siglos: del XIII al XXI\u201d (\u201cGerman voices and Hispanic music in a dialogue of centuries: from the 13th<\/sup> to the 21st<\/sup> century\u201d), will be held this Sunday, October 6, at 13:00 pm, at the Royal Monastery of Yuste. The concert counts with the collaboration of Goethe Foundation and the Cooperation Network of European Routes of Emperor Charles V. The entrance is free until seating capacity is reached.<\/p>\n

The programme includes some of the works included in the famous Codex Las Huelgas<\/em>, named after the Royal Monastery of Santa Mar\u00eda la Real as it was preserved there. The Codex comprises polyphonic works, dated during the first decades of the 13th<\/sup> century, composed for a changeable number of voices.<\/p>\n

Apart from these works, others written by some of the great masters of Spanish polyphony, such as Crist\u00f3bal de Morales or Tom\u00e1s Luis de Victoria, based on texts related to the worship of Virgin Mary, will be interpreted and will be alternated with other compositions of contemporary authors, such as Arvo P\u00e4rt or Max Becksch\u00e4fer, based on medieval mystic texts. All of them will contribute to draw a geographic and chronological bridge between beginning of the 13th<\/sup> century Spain and Germany and what they are nowadays.<\/p>\n

Singer Pur is a vocal sextet founded in 1991, whose aim is to sing a cappella including anything performable by voices from medieval times to the avant-garde. They often co-operate with musicians as diverse as the composer and jazz clarinet player Michael Riessler and orchestras such as the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, among others. The Singer Pur discography consists of more than 20 CDs, several of which have received notable awards.<\/p>\n

The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation initiated a series of concerts in 1997 with the aim of \u201cestablishing a musical cycle related to the period of Charles V in Extremadura\u201d, thereby proclaiming the European cultural heritage and its history as the main driving force of the process of European culture and integration.<\/p>\n

This is the third concert held this year. The first one was held on May 18 and was given by the music group \u201cCapella Iberica\u201d and the second one took place on September 21 by \u201cCamara Antiqva\u201d commemorating the 461st<\/sup> anniversary since the death of Emperor Charles V in Yuste.<\/p>\n

La formaci\u00f3n vocal alemana Singer Pur cerrar\u00e1 el Ciclo de Conciertos del Emperador que organiza la Fundaci\u00f3n Academia Europea e Iberoamericana de Yuste y Patrimonio Nacional. El programa, que lleva por t\u00edtulo \u2018Voces alemanas y m\u00fasica hispana en un di\u00e1logo de siglos: del XIII al XXI\u2019 se celebrar\u00e1 este domingo, d\u00eda 6 octubre, a las 13 horas en el Real Monasterio de Yuste. El concierto, que cuenta con la colaboraci\u00f3n de la Fundaci\u00f3n Goethe y la Red de Cooperaci\u00f3n de las Rutas de Carlos V, tiene entrada libre y gratuita hasta completar aforo.<\/p>

El programa incluye algunas de las obras contenidas en el famoso C\u00f3dice de Las Huelgas, llamado as\u00ed al haberse conservado el Real Monasterio de Santa Mar\u00eda la Real. Dicho C\u00f3dice est\u00e1 formado por obras polif\u00f3nicas, fechadas durante las primeras d\u00e9cadas del siglo XIII, compuestas para un n\u00famero variable de voces.<\/p>

Adem\u00e1s de estas obras, se interpretar\u00e1n otras escritas por algunos de los grandes maestros de la polifon\u00eda cl\u00e1sica espa\u00f1ola, como Crist\u00f3bal de Morales o Tom\u00e1s Luis de Victoria, basadas en textos vinculados al culto mariano, que se ir\u00e1n alternando con otras composiciones de autores contempor\u00e1neos, como Arvo P\u00e4rt o Max Becksch\u00e4fer, basadas en textos de la m\u00edstica medieval. Todas ellas contribuir\u00e1n a trazar un puente geogr\u00e1fico y cronol\u00f3gico entre la Espa\u00f1a y la Alemania de principios del siglo XIII, con las de nuestros d\u00edas.<\/p>

Singer Pur es un sexteto vocal que naci\u00f3 en 1991 con el prop\u00f3sito de ejecutar m\u00fasica a cappella de diversas \u00e9pocas, abarcando desde la m\u00fasica medieval hasta la vanguardia contempor\u00e1nea. La formaci\u00f3n colabora a menudo con m\u00fasicos tan diversos como el compositor y clarinetista de jazz Michael Riessler, y con instituciones musicales del prestigio de la Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, entre otras. La discograf\u00eda de Singer Pur consta de m\u00e1s de una veintena de CDs, algunos de los cuales han recibido importantes galardones.<\/p>

La Fundaci\u00f3n Academia Europea Iberoamericana de Yuste inici\u00f3 en el a\u00f1o 1997 un conjunto de conciertos con el objetivo de arraigar en Extremadura un ciclo musical relacionado con la \u00e9poca de Carlos V, reivindicando de esta forma el patrimonio cultural europeo y su historia como principal motor del proceso de construcci\u00f3n e integraci\u00f3n.<\/p>

\u00c9ste es el tercer concierto que se celebra este a\u00f1o; el primero fue el pasado 18 de mayo a cargo de la agrupaci\u00f3n musical \u2018Capella Iberica\u2019; y el segundo el pasado 21 de septiembre por el grupo de \u2018Camara Antiqva\u2019 para conmemorar el 461 aniversario del fallecimiento del Emperador Carlos V en Yuste.<\/p>
