The publication includes the research works presented at the doctoral seminar by the ten researchers who were awarded a Sofia Corradi- European Research and Mobility Grant for European Studies.<\/strong><\/p>\n The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation, in collaboration with the Spanish Embassy and the Office of the European Parliament in Italy, will present the book Peace and European values as a potential model for integration and progress in a global world<\/em> at the building of the European Parliament in Rome, on 30 January at 16:00 pm.<\/p>\n This publication, included in the book collection \u201cCuadernos de Yuste\u201d, is the result of the research works carried out by the researchers awarded the Sofia Corradi Research and Mobility Grants for European Studies, which are in turn linked to the Carlos V European Award. These were exposed and discussed at the doctoral seminar organised by the Foundation from 24 to 26 July 2017, at the Royal Monastery of Yuste.<\/p>\n The Director of the Office of the European Parliament in Italy, Carlo Corazza; the Spanish Ambassador in Italy, Alfonso Dastis; Professor and winner of the Carlos V European Award, Sofia Corradi; the President of the Foundation\u2019s Executive Committee and Director General of External Action, Rosa Balas; the coordinator of the publication, Jes\u00fas Baigorri and two of the researchers who are responsible of the contents of the book, Bettina Steible and Luigi Cino, will take part in the presentation. Following the institutional words and the presentation of the book, diplomas will be given to the authors of the works included in the book. The event is supported by Alimentos de Extremadura and Extremadura Avante, the Regional Government of Extremadura\u2019s group of public entities.<\/p>\n In the preface of the book, Sofia Corradi reviews the most notable milestones of the Erasmus Programme, giving special emphasis to those who she has collaborated with, contributing with her knowledge and personal experience. In this sense, she recalls that ever since the Erasmus Programme was launched in 1987 it has made the exchange of approximately five million students from around five thousand higher education European institutions possible. She, furthermore, points out that since 2014 the Erasmus Programme \u2013now Erasmus Plus- has a broader scope to include other programmes, institutions and pre-existing European organisations of all sort in order to offer young managers and workers similar opportunities and to get a greater amount of geographical areas involved.<\/p>\n The winner of the Carlos V European Award explains that the programme\u2019s budget has reached fifteen thousand million euros for the period from 2014 to 2020 in her text, a figure that only includes the European Union\u2019s contribution.<\/p>\n Finally, Corradi affirms that ever since she began her research on the Erasmus Programme, she has systematically observed that \u201cyoung adults who spend a period of their lives fully immersed in a different culture develop precious personal traits\u201d and adds that the Erasmus Programme \u201ccreates a dialogical mindset. El acto contar\u00e1 con la presencia de Sofia Corradi, Mamma Erasmus, quien recibi\u00f3 el Premio Europeo Carlos V en un acto presidido por el Rey Felipe VI, el 9 de mayo de 2016 en el Real Monasterio de Yuste.<\/p> Esta publicaci\u00f3n, que se enmarca en la colecci\u00f3n Cuadernos de Yuste, es el resultado de los trabajos de investigaci\u00f3n realizados por los diez investigadores seleccionados en las Becas de Investigaci\u00f3n y Movilidad en Estudios Europeos Sofia Corradi, ligadas al Premio Europeo Carlos V, que fueron presentados y debatidos el seminario doctoral organizado por la Fundaci\u00f3n en el Real Monasterio de Yuste entre el 24 y 26 de julio de 2017.<\/p> En la presentaci\u00f3n intervendr\u00e1 el director de la Oficina en Italia del Parlamento Europeo, Carlo Corazza; el embajador de Espa\u00f1a en Italia, Alfonso Dastis; la profesora y Premio Europeo Carlos V, Sofia Corradi; la presidenta de la Comisi\u00f3n Ejecutiva de la Fundaci\u00f3n y directora general Acci\u00f3n Exterior, Rosa Balas; el coordinador de la publicaci\u00f3n, Jes\u00fas Baigorri, y dos de los investigadores que han participado en el libro, Bettina Steible y Luigi Cino. Tras las palabras institucionales y la presentaci\u00f3n del libro, se proceder\u00e1 a la entrega de diplomas a los autores de los trabajos incluidos en el libro. El acto cuenta con el apoyo de Alimentos de Extremadura y Extremadura Avante, el grupo de empresas p\u00fablicas de la Junta de Extremadura.<\/p> En el prefacio del libro, Sofia Corradi hace un recorrido por los hitos m\u00e1s destacados del Programa Erasmus, haciendo especial hincapi\u00e9 en aquellos en los que ella ha colaborado aportando sus conocimientos y experiencia personal. As\u00ed, recuerda que desde que el programa Erasmus se lanz\u00f3 en 1987, ha hecho posible el intercambio de cinco millones de estudiantes de unas cinco mil instituciones europeas de educaci\u00f3n superior.
