The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation has received 55 applications for the delivery of ten European Research and Mobility Grants for European Studies, which are addressed to students who are working on their doctoral thesis in History, Political Science, Economy, Law and other disciplines of Social and Human Sciences, as well as other branches of science.<\/strong><\/p>\n

55 works from 13 European, Latin American and from other countries of the Mediterranean basin were presented to the call, which closed on 15 January. This stresses its international projection and its consolidation as far as the promotion of research on European integration and the interest that young people have in relation to the European project is concerned.<\/p>\n

The applicants to one of the ten grants offered by Yuste Foundation come from Ecuador, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Haiti, Cuba, Italy Spain, Morocco, Israel; Czech Republic, Germany, Ukraine, and they are currently carrying out their doctoral studies at different universities in Spain, Italy, United Kingdom, Czech republic, Portugal and Germany.<\/p>\n

Each grant has an economic endowment of 2.500 EUR that will serve to cover the preparation of the contributions that should be submitted in the framework of the Carlos V European Award Doctoral Seminar of Multi-disciplinary Studies on Contemporary Europe that will be held in Yuste (C\u00e1ceres-Extremadura-Spain); the development of research work carried out in the framework of the call which shall later be published in a joint work by Yuste Foundation with a prestigious editorial, and the mobility of researchers in order to carry out their research work, participate in the doctoral seminar and attend the presentation of the publication.<\/p>\n

The subject chosen for these grants, which have already reached their eighth edition, is adapted to the profile of the awarded person from a multidisciplinary perspective and in this case, the former President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani, who was awarded the Carlos V European Award in 2018, chose the subject: \u201cThe European Union and the principle of solidarity\u201d for the research projects.<\/p>\n

EUROPEAN GRANTS<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Carlos V European Award-Antonio Tajani European Research and Mobility Grants for European Studies are meant to favour study and research in the European arena. They count with the collaboration of the SEGEI (Socio-Economic Governance and European Identity), the University of Extremadura and the Regional Government of Extremadura.<\/p>\n

Candidates who are awarded a grant become part of \u201cYuste\u2019s Alumni\u201d European Network, established to enable the exchange of projects and information among specialist researchers on European subjects. Currently, more than a hundred researchers from several European, Latin American and African countries of the Mediterranean basin comprise the network.<\/p>\n
