The first circumnavigation of the world was an epic adventure full of complications. This is the story told in first person by one of its protagonists: Hernando de Bustamante, who worked as a barber-surgeon on the mission. His voice will guide us on a journey marked by horror and courage, despair and wonder. A journey of some ships and men who wanting to reach the Isle of Spices went around the world proving its roundness.<\/p>\n

The author Roberto Mass\u00f3 (C\u00e1ceres, 1987) works with narrative and drawing. His latest publications are Cadencia (Fosfatina) and El ruido secreto (Spiderland\/snake). He has made several exhibitions nationwide. He received a grant in 2017 for the programme, \u201cCreaci\u00f3n Joven\u201d, of the Youth Institute (Injuve) and another one from the Regional Government of Extremadura in 2018 addressed to visual artists.<\/p>\n

En enero de 1524 partieron del puerto de Sanl\u00facar de Barrameda los Doce Ap\u00f3stoles de M\u00e9xico, un grupo de frailes franciscanos con la misi\u00f3n, encomendada por la Corona espa\u00f1ola y la Iglesia Cat\u00f3lica de evangelizar el Nuevo Mundo. Arribaron a Veracruz, en M\u00e9xico, casi cuatro meses despu\u00e9s. Su aventura no estuvo exenta de peligros y vicisitudes, pero sobre todas ellas triunf\u00f3 su entrega y su convencimiento de que los indios tambi\u00e9n eran hijos de Dios.<\/p><\/div>
