To contribute through training, reflection, debate and transfer of knowledge, to a greater knowledge of Latin American political and social reality and to the implementation of strategies that contribute to the construction of peaceful, just and inclusive societies (SDG 16 and SDG 17).<\/p>\n

Latin America is currently experiencing turbulent times, especially in countries such as Argentina, Ecuador, Bolivia and Chile, which add to the already worrying situations in other countries, such as Venezuela, Honduras or Brazil. Social discontent is growing and protest movements that demand equality and justice appear or intensify, while in other places demands for social and political change, through electoral processes, express clear citizen demands for change. It is necessary to analyse the reasons for this discontent, in its various forms, and for the social movements, as well as its effects on the stability of these societies and of the region as a whole, in an already turbulent world. These dynamics call again for the goals of SDG 16, which vindicates the role of justice and strong institutions in ensuring peaceful, just and inclusive societies, without which the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda as a whole cannot be achieved.<\/p>\n
