The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation has organised four free online courses within its training programme Campus Yuste, the Foundation\u2019s programme which develops specialised courses and meetings on the process of European construction and integration, as well as current European issues and other subjects related to the history and memory of Europe and Ibero-America, the historical stage of Charles V, the 2030 Agenda, the Sustainable Development Goals, and the founding objectives of the institution, from a multidisciplinary point of view.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Given the current situation produced by the COVID-19, the Foundation has had to change the attendance-based format in its usual headquarters, the Royal Monastery of Yuste, to the online modality with the aim of continuing to build bridges, creating meeting points, of knowledge and debate.<\/p>\n

The courses, which are part of the programme of the international courses of the University of Extremadura, were held between 14 September and 9 October in the afternoon to facilitate the registration of more people from Europe and America. Thus, the data reflect the great reception of the proposals offered at Campus Yuste: 200 people have been awarded grants by Yuste Foundation to enrol in these courses; it has counted on 103 international professors and experts, and with more than 1,000 students from 30 different countries in Europe, Latin America and Africa, including: Argentina; Austria; Belgium; Brazil; Chile; Colombia; Cuba; France; Germany; Guatemala; Honduras; Italy; Jordan; Luxembourg; Malta; Mexico; Morocco; Netherlands; Nicaragua; Peru; Portugal; Romania; Sao Tome and Principe; Spain; Turkey; United States; Uruguay and Venezuela.<\/p>\n

In addition to this, is the extensive follow-up of the different presentations through the live broadcast on social networks, which denotes the support for the proposals presented and reinforces the holding of next calls for Campus Yuste.<\/p>\n

The courses offered were: \u201cCohesion and Solidarity Policies in the European Union\u201d; \u201cCharles V and the Sea: the Magellan-Elcano Circumnavigation Voyage and the Spice Era\u201d; \u201cIberian and Transatlantic Cultural Dialogues. Identities in Contact\u201d and \u201cSocial Discontent and Political Changes in Latin America: The Imperative of SDGs 16 and 17\u201d. All courses have been taught online from 16:00 h. to 19:30 h (Madrid-CET).<\/p>\n

Campus Yuste has had the collaboration of the “Jean Monnet” Module of the EU-HOPE+ at the University of Extremadura; the Cooperation Network of the Routes of Emperor Charles V; the University of \u00c9vora; the Office of Cross-Border Initiatives of the Regional Government of Extremadura; the Spain-Portugal Interreg programme; the Euroamerica Foundation; the Ibero-American General Secretariat; the University of Extremadura, and National Heritage.<\/p>\n
