<\/a><\/p>\nThe multi-crisis triggered by Covid-19 has made health one of the global priorities at all levels, opening our eyes to its importance as one of the basic, and most costly, pillars of life expectancy worldwide. It is necessary to rethink its future and its management as a society in Europe and globally.<\/p>\n
The EU has taken its first steps to build a European Health Union and to address emergency health situations such as the current pandemic in the future. It calls for greater cooperation and increased structures at European level, improved data collection and analysis, improved role of European agencies, and combating latent fragilities in health systems, where there is a lack of coordination in the management of cross-border threats that do not understand borders.<\/p>\n
We need to reflect on the future of health, health and research systems at all levels; increase coordination and cooperation; create more resilient systems; address the lack of supplies of medicines or protective materials; the management of human resources and the mobility of professionals; the monitoring of hospitals; or the protocols of action and coordination in decision-making.<\/p>\n
