<\/a><\/p>\nThe Treaty of Lisbon enshrines as fundamental values of the European Union respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality and human rights and states that the Union aims to promote peace and the well-being of its peoples.<\/p>\n
As a result, the EU, within the regulatory framework established by the TFEU and having as a corollary the catalogue of fundamental rights set out therein, must solve the problems that a constantly growing, multicultural and multi-religious society poses, not allowing itself, however, to be separated from its own identity. It is imperative that, in this regard, citizens and politicians be aware of the common past that has built the EU, the importance of the regions and national parliaments in the implementation of public policies and the role of citizens in the construction of this new Europe.<\/p>\n
The course will address the need to promote these values in order to build a strong European identity that leads global alternatives that curb the rise of radicalism that threatens coexistence and human rights, it will analyse the challenges arising from the factors referred to above and it will attempt to propose some solutions to them.<\/p>\n
