Yuste Foundation launches the campaign \u201cCommitted to Europe\u201d for the second consecutive year with a video entitled \u201cCelebrating Europe\u201d, which aims to reflect civil society\u2019s commitment to the European project during the different stages of life. Thus, the assemblage of the video gathers images including a few months old baby, children in school, adolescents, young people, families and the elderly because we are born as Europeans and live according to values and ideas which we are committed to throughout our life. <\/strong>(09\/05\/2021)<\/p>\n

The Campo Ara\u00f1uelo, Sierra de Gredos, Almanzor, El Poz\u00f3n and Nuestra Se\u00f1ora de las Angustias schools of Navalmoral de la Mata; Gonzalo Encabo school in Talayuela; the Jaranda highschools in Jarandilla de la Vera; Cella Vinaria, in Ceclav\u00edn and Mel\u00e9ndez Vald\u00e9s, in Villafranca de los Barros have collaborated in the making of this video. In addition, workers and users of CEPAIM, Placeat and other anonymous people who have wanted to collaborate with the project have participated.<\/p>\n

Due to the current circumstances, this year Yuste Foundation has not been able to hold the 14th Carlos V European Award ceremony either, but it did not want to miss the opportunity to commemorate Europe Day and to join in the launch of the Conference on the Future of Europe. It, therefore, held the webinar \u201cQuo Vadis, Europa?… in the Post-Covid Era\u201d, which brought together three Spanish personalities who have received the Carlos V European Award: Felipe Gonz\u00e1lez (2000), Javier Solana (2011) and Marcelino Oreja (2017), who jointly analysed the current situation and the challenges facing the European Union and reflected on its future.<\/p>\n

Youth and the future of Europe<\/strong><\/p>\n

In order to focus and give voice to young people, Yuste Foundation has organised the webinar \u201cYouth and the Future of Europe\u201d, which will take place on 13 May. This webinar will take you on a tour of what Spain has meant in the European Union, especially for young people, the possibilities that it offers youth, both at the level of programmes and participation and how and why they should be involved at the Conference on the Future of Europe. The event will feature the participation of the Director General of the Youth Institute of Extremadura, Sara Dur\u00e1n V\u00e1zquez; the President of the Extremaduran Council of the European Movement and former MEP, Alejandro Cercas; the Director of the Delegation of Extremadura in Brussels, Patricia N\u00fa\u00f1ez Cort\u00e9s; and the member of Yuste\u2019s Euro Ibero-American Alumni Network and researcher in Public Law at the University of Extremadura, Enrique Hern\u00e1ndez D\u00edez.<\/p>\n

Conference on the Future of Europe<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Conference on the Future of Europe is a series of citizen-led debates and discussions that will enable people across Europe to share their ideas and contribute to shaping our common future.<\/p>\n

It is the first conference of its kind: it is a major pan-European democratic exercise that offers a new public forum for an open, inclusive and transparent debate with citizens around a number of key priorities and challenges.<\/p>\n
