<\/a><\/p>\nThe European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation presents the book Hern\u00e1n Cort\u00e9s en el siglo XXI. <\/em>V centenario de la llegada de Cort\u00e9s <\/em>a M\u00e9xico<\/em> tomorrow in Medellin. It gathers all the conferences and presentations that took place in the Extremaduran localities of Medell\u00edn and Trujillo in April 2019 at the international congress that bears the same name. <\/strong>(02\/06\/2021)<\/p>\n The presentation, which will take place at 20:30 pm at the Quinto Cecilio M\u00e9telo Cultural Centre in Medell\u00edn, will count with the mayor of Medell\u00edn, Valent\u00edn Pozo, the director of Yuste Foundation, Juan Carlos Moreno, the president of the Federation Extremadura Hist\u00f3rica, Jos\u00e9 \u00c1ngel Calero Carretero; and the president of the Historical Association of Medell\u00edn, Tom\u00e1s Garc\u00eda Mu\u00f1oz. PhD in American History, biographer of Hern\u00e1n Cort\u00e9s and teacher at \u201cCarolina Coronado\u201d secondary school in Almendralejo, Esteban Mira Caballos, will offer a lecture in which he will gloss the multifaceted personality of this character from Medell\u00edn.<\/p>\n This book delves into the historiographic knowledge of the figure of Hern\u00e1n Cort\u00e9s in the context of the 16th<\/sup> century, presenting and attempting to disseminate the historical transcendence of Cort\u00e9s\u2019 the polyhedral personality due to his background, youth, education and his colonisation, administration and expeditionary tasks. His concerns as a businessman and as a tireless fighter for the recognition of his legitimate rights are also studied.
