The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation, together with the \u201cJes\u00fas Us\u00f3n Minimum Invasion Surgery Centre”, and the University of Extremadura, have organised the course \u201cThe Future of Healthcare in Europe and in the World: Challenges and Solutions to a Global Challenge\u201d, to be held from 27 September to 1 October at the Royal Monastery of Yuste as part of the Foundation\u2019s Campus Yuste training programme.<\/strong> (23\/09\/2021)<\/p>\n

The multi-crisis triggered by Covid-19 has made healthcare one of the global priorities and one of the basic pillars of the world, making the European Union take the first steps towards building a European Health Union in order to deal with future emergency health situations such as the current pandemic. This health union translates into greater cooperation and an increase of European structures, improving the collection and analysis of data, improving the role of European agencies, and combating the fragilities of health systems such as the coordination of resources in cross-border areas.<\/p>\n

The participants include the Director of Public Health of the World Health Organization, Maria Neira; the Director of the Cardiovascular Institute and “Physician-in-Chief” of the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York and member of Yuste\u2019s Academy, Valentin Fuster; Director of the ISGlobal Malaria Programme, Quique Bassat; Regional Minister for Health and Social Services of the Regional Government of Extremadura, Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Vergeles Blanca; and the Executive Secretary of the Andean Health Organisation Hip\u00f3lito Unanue Agreement of the Andean Integration System, M\u00aa del Carmen Calle D\u00e1vila. The course is directed by the Scientific Director of the CCMI, Francisco S\u00e1nchez Margallo and the Director of the San Carlos clinical hospital, Julio Mayol Mart\u00ednez.<\/p>\n

The course counts with the collaboration of National Heritage, the Regional Government of Extremadura, the Provincial Council of C\u00e1ceres, the Provincial Council of Badajoz and the company Mafresa.<\/p>\n
