The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation has organised the course \u201cEconomic Impact of Climate Change in Spain, Latin America and the Caribbean\u201d along with the project \u201cRepensar Extremadura\u201d and it is to be held from 25 to 27 October at the Cultural and Congress Centre of Guadalupe in the framework of the Campus Yuste education programme that is part of the XXII edition of the University of Extremadura\u2019s International Summer-Autumn Courses.<\/strong> (22\/10\/2021)<\/p>\n

Currently, public policies aim to solve the problems of regions, cities and social groups linked to climate change, environmental issues, access to housing, transport services, cultural goods and to the strengthening of social networks. Within this context, the course will help to disseminate updated concepts in the planning processes of public interventions and aims to build a network of experts who work or are interested in developing measures to estimate socio-economic vulnerability in the planning and project implementation.<\/p>\n

It is an online meeting that brings together about one hundred researchers from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Italy, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, Poland, Dominican Republic, Spain, Ukraine and Venezuela who are working on the analysis of the economic effects of climate change on various productive sectors and in different geographical environments.<\/p>\n

The course is directed by the Director of Research in Valuation of Socioeconomic Vulnerability to Climate Risk of the University of Buenos Aires, Esteban Otto Thomasz and by the Vice-rector of Economics of the University of Extremadura, Agust\u00edn Garc\u00eda Garc\u00eda.<\/p>\n

The sessions count with the collaboration of the Holy Year of Guadalupe and the City Council of Guadalupe.<\/p>\n
