The European Documentation Centre in Extremadura, which is part of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation, is organising the webinar \u201cHow to travel sustainably? Get on the train\u201d, along with the University of Extremadura and the European Commission. This activity will be held tomorrow, 18 November, from 17:30 to 19:00 pm via Zoom. <\/strong>(17\/11\/2021)<\/p>\n

This session aims to discuss and share ideas about how to travel in a sustainable and inclusive manner, the problems that users come across when using the railway in the rural environment, the European Green Pact and equal and independent rail access for people with disabilities, among other issues.<\/p>\n

To this end, the webinar will be attended by experts such as I\u00f1igo Cruz Mart\u00ednez, an expert from the Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport of the European Commission; Jes\u00fas Gumiel Barrag\u00e1n, President of CERMI-Extremadura; Mercedes Vaquera Mosquero, Professor at the University of Extremadura and President of the Economic and Social Council of Extremadura, and Antonio Garc\u00eda Salas, Coordinator in the Southwest Iberian Corridor.<\/p>\n

All contributions made during question time, as well as the results of the survey to be conducted during the webinar and the content of the shared digital whiteboard where all participants can write their opinions and comments, will be uploaded to the platform of the Conference on the Future of Europe.<\/p>\n

Conference on the Future of Europe<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is a platform for European citizens to discuss Europe\u2019s challenges and priorities. The European Parliament, the Council and the European Commission have undertaken to listen to European citizens and to follow up, within their respective spheres of competence, on the recommendations made.<\/p>\n

The Conference is expected to reach conclusions and provide guidance on the future of Europe by spring 2022.<\/p>\n
