The Board of Trustees has approved the call for the 15th edition of this award and has promptly amended the rules with the aim of providing greater scope for the participation of citizens when proposing nominations for the award.

The academic and research field of the Foundation will focus on already established activities, such as the calls for applications for the “Carlos V European Award European Research and Mobility Grants” and the Doctoral Seminar, where the contributions selected through these grants are presented, as well as the “Research Prize to Ibero-American Doctoral Theses”.

Other relevant activities are those that have Guadalupe as an epicentre, coinciding with the celebration of the Holy Year of Guadalupe, such as the 2nd International Congress “Relations Between Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe: A Meeting Space”, where young Americanist researchers, doctors and doctoral students will meet, with the aim of presenting their new lines of research; the series of sessions Guadalupe as a Destiny; or the “Guadalupe in America” conferences, among others.

Consolidated activities, such as “Tribuna EuroIberoamérica”, will continue; a programme that includes presentations by experts in different locations in Extremadura, or “Aula Abierta”, which includes other type of academic proposals, such as seminars, conferences, round tables or discussion and reflection meetings on historical or current issues.

In like manner, cultural and awareness-raising programmes will also continue to be supported, as is the case regarding the Emperor’s Concerts; the Luis Alcoriza Award of the Young Jury, in collaboration with the Iberian Film Festival of Badajoz; school programmes on Europe and Ibero-America, which will take place in different educational centres in the region, and the Network of Routes of Emperor Charles V, whose Board of Directors is currently presided over by the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation.

In addition, the editorial line of the Foundation will be expanded with the publication of several volumes in the different collections focused on historical topics related to Europe and Ibero-America, on reflecting the current Euro-Ibero-American socio-political situation and on gathering the research work of the doctoral seminar organised within the framework of the Carlos V European Award.
