the fifth centenary of the death of the Spanish humanist, Elio Antonio de Nebrija, and the celebration of the European Year of Youth with the organisation of three courses included in the training programme Campus Yuste, which are integrated in the 33rd edition of the University of Extremadura\u2019s International Summer-Autumn Courses. <\/strong>(02\/08\/2022)<\/p>\n<p>In addition to these three courses, the following have been organised: \u201cThe Worlds of Charles V. Humanism, Education and Transmission of Knowledge in Europe and America\u201d, \u201cThe Challenge of Working Together: European Union-Latin America and the Caribbean Relations in the Face of Major Global Challenges\u201d and \u201cTeaching by Means of Videos\u201d. The latter will be held virtually through the University of Extremadura\u2019s 9th International Virtual School Cavila.<\/p>\n<p>This Campus Yuste edition recovered the face-to-face format and the students were able to return to the Monastery of San Jer\u00f3nimo de Yuste to listen and participate in the presentations and round tables. The online version of the courses was an available option as well as the face-to-face format and Campus Yuste thus opened to the world with the live broadcast of all its courses in this manner. This resulted in the registration of 483 people from Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Czech Republic, El Salvador, Ecuador, France, Haiti, Italy, Malta, Mexico, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine and Venezuela.<\/p>\n<p>The courses counted with the participation of international experts and academics of the stature of Nicaraguan novelist and recipient of the 2017 Cervantes Prize, Sergio Ram\u00edrez; Colombian, Laura Restrepo; the honorary archivist of the Royal Palace of Brussels and academic of Yuste, Gustaaf Janssens; the former president of Costa Rica and Nobel Peace Prize winner, \u00d3scar Arias; the former president of the Spanish Government and Carlos V European Award-winner, Felipe Gonz\u00e1lez; the academic of Yuste, Juan Carlos Rodr\u00edguez Ibarra; professor of Contemporary History of the University of Extremadura and member of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste and the Royal Academy of History, Enrique Moradiellos; professor of Political Science from the Carlos III University of Madrid, Pablo Sim\u00f3n; the director of Red Cross Youth Ukraine, Maryna Zokhedub, and her counterpart in Spain, Luc\u00eda Chocarro and professor Ascensi\u00f3n Hern\u00e1ndez, from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, among other personalities.<\/p>\n<p>The courses included in Campus Yuste counted with the collaboration of the Office of Cross-Border Initiatives of the Regional Government of Extremadura, the University of \u00c9vora, the European Regional Development Fund Interreg Spain-Portugal, the Regional Committee of the European Movement of Extremadura, the Research Group on the History of Present Time of the History Department of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Extremadura, EU-LAC Foundation, the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB), Euroamerica Foundation, the Cooperation Network of the Routes of Emperor Charles V &#8211; Cultural Route of the Council of Europe, the Regional Government of Extremadura, National Heritage, and the Provincial Councils of C\u00e1ceres and Badajoz , as well as the sponsorship of Mafresa.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Courses in autumn<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Campus Yuste programme closes during August, although it resumes its activity in September with the organisation of two more courses. The first is entitled \u201cHeritage and Cultural Identity\u201d and will be held from 14 to 16 September through the 9th International Virtual School Cavila offered by the University of Extremadura with the support of Yuste Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>The second course is &#8216;Universal Accessibility, Social Inclusion and Leverage for Change towards Equality\u201d and will be held at the Monastery of Yuste from 21 to 23 September. The general objective of this course is to train, raise awareness and disseminate knowledge on universal accessibility, equal opportunities and social inclusion among students and professionals from the various disciplinary branches.
