The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation aims to contribute to the promotion of democracy, respect for human rights, the promotion of peace and international harmony, as well as the integral, harmonious, balanced and sustainable development of all peoples and nations of the world, especially through the promotion of culture, research, dissemination of knowledge and social integration.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Defence promotes the development of the culture of defence with the aim of making Spanish society know, value and identify with its history and with the solidarity and effective effort through which the Armed Forces safeguard national interests. The promotion of defence awareness and culture is a priority objective. Bringing Defence closer to the citizen is an essential part of the National Security culture as an instrument to achieve a committed society and it is an active part of its security.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Defence and the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation have been collaborating for years in the organisation of joint academic activities, where the defence sessions that have Europe and Ibero-America as geographical areas of study are particularly important among others.<\/p>\n

The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation organises the Security in Ibero-America Sessions, under the umbrella of the SCHOOL OF GUADALUPE, with the aim of promoting dialogue on security and defence policy, including new threats and challenges of the international strategic scenario, with special attention to Europe and Latin America, as well as the adaptation and response of the Armed Forces to new challenges.<\/p>\n

The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation has created the SCHOOL OF GUADALUPE to resume the role that the School of Salamanca played five centuries ago in the 21st<\/sup> century, illuminating the path of Spain in the New World and contributing to the formation of Ius Gentium and the defence of human rights. Inspired by the School of Salamanca, the School of Guadalupe focuses on reflecting and researching History and International Law as instruments to open new paths in equal cooperation between Europe and Latin America.<\/p>\n
