In this 2022 edition, the Transition and Transitions Encounter addresses the suggestive aspect of the role of the press and media in societies undergoing processes of change. Starting from the process that took place with the settlement of democracy in Spain after the death of Franco, where the press played an essential role, the development of the colloquium will go through the strengthening of the audio-visual sphere from the 80s of the 20th<\/sup> century (radio, TVE and private television) and will culminate with the approach to current phenomena, with social networks and the need for adaptation of the rest of the media, which has meant a substantial change when considering the media environment.<\/p>\n

All this will serve to reflect on how free societies have evolved in recent decades and on the challenges posed by the immediate future, addressing aspects such as the emergence of populisms, the drift of democracies, the new frameworks of political and social relations…<\/p>\n
