<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\nYuste Foundation has organized the \u201c12th<\/sup> Edition of the Meetings of Yuste: Transition and Transitions\u201d along with the University of Extremadura. This year, they are entitled, \u201cThe Mass Media and Political Transition: Spanish Democracy Throughout Time\u201d, and will be held on 3 and 4 November in the auditorium University of Extremadura\u2019s Faculty of Philosophy and Letters. <\/strong>(02\/11\/2022)<\/p>\n This edition aims to delve into the role of the press and the mass media in societies undergoing processes of change. To this end, starting from the role played by the press during the establishment of democracy in Spain after the death of Franco, the conference will analyse the strengthening of the audio-visual sphere from the 80s of the 20th<\/sup> century and will culminate with the approach to current phenomena with the arrival of social media and the need for adaptation of the rest of the media; a fact that has meant a substantial change when considering the media environment.<\/p>\n All these aspects will serve to reflect on how free societies have evolved in recent decades and the immediate challenges they face, such as the emergence of populisms, the drift of democracies, and the new frameworks of political and social relations.<\/p>\n These contents will be analysed by a team of journalists from ABC<\/em>, El Pa\u00eds<\/em>, El Mundo<\/em> and La Ser, such as Juan Fern\u00e1ndez Miranda, Soledad Gallego-D\u00edaz, Fernando Palmero and Griselda Pastor, respectively.<\/p>\n The meetings will also include academic presentations by the professors of Contemporary History of the University of Extremadura: Alfonso Pinilla, Jos\u00e9 Antonio Rubio Caballero and Mario D\u00edaz Barrado, and by the professor of the Jean Monnet module of the University of Extremadura, Alejandro Cercas.<\/p>\n Those interested in participating can register through the link: https:\/\/bit.ly\/3sSC0CY<\/p>\n
