The members of the General Council of the Judiciary, Pilar Sep\u00falveda Garc\u00eda de la Torre and Juan Mart\u00ednez Moya, respectively, the president of the Superior Court of Justice of Extremadura, Mar\u00eda F\u00e9lix Tena Arag\u00f3n, and the secretary of Equality and Conciliation of the Regional Government of Extremadura, Mar\u00eda del Ara S\u00e1nchez Vera, opened the 2nd<\/sup> Ibero-American and European Agricultural and Livestock Law Course\u201d today, which was organised by the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation and the General Council of the Judiciary under the agreement signed between both institutions. <\/strong>(12\/03\/2024)<\/p>\n

During her speech, the secretary of Equality and Conciliation of the Regional Government of Extremadura advocated for the defence of the primary sector, stating that \u201cfarmers deserve us to look back and remember that humanity needs the products of the field in order to keep subsisting\u201d. She also highlighted the work carried out by Yuste Foundation in \u201ccontributing to the promotion and consolidation of the existing links between Extremadura, Europe, and Ibero-America\u201d.<\/p>\n

In turn, the president of the Superior Court of Justice of Extremadura, Mar\u00eda F\u00e9lix Tena Arag\u00f3n, noted that this course addresses nuances from all jurisdictions that \u201cenrich\u201d this legal branch, which has a special impact on a region like Extremadura. Additionally, the president recalled that this activity was \u201cone of the most valued and in high demand\u201d in the national General Council of the Judiciary training plan for this year.<\/p>\n

The member of the General Council of the Judiciary, Pilar Sep\u00falveda Garc\u00eda de la Torre, stated that the decentralisation of training aims to bring the issues of the territories closer to judges. Thus, \u201cthis course takes place in Extremadura because agriculture and livestock are essential elements of its economy and way of life\u201d. She also announced the continuity of this course, which \u201cwill become an international reference\u201d, she affirmed.<\/p>\n

To conclude the inauguration, Juan Mart\u00ednez Moya, a member of the General Council of the Judiciary, highlighted the complicity between the General Council of the Judiciary and Yuste Foundation for the organisation of this course and the design of the preparatory meeting for the Ibero-American Judicial Summit, one of whose preparatory meetings will be held in Extremadura next year.<\/p>\n

Some of the speakers of the course include the president of the General Council of the Judiciary, Vicente Guilarte Guti\u00e9rrez, and the magistrate of the 2nd<\/sup> Chamber of the Supreme Court, Pablo Llarena Conde, who will deliver a lecture entitled \u201cEl delito de fraude de subvenciones\u201d. In addition, the course will feature the professor of Agricultural Law at the University of Verona, Leonardo Pastorino, and the secretary-general of the Jijona and Turr\u00f3n de Alicante Regulatory Council of the Protected Geographical Indications and secretary of the association ORIGEN ESPA\u00d1A, Federico Moncunill Gallo.<\/p>\n

This activity, which is part of the General Council of the Judiciary\u2019s state training plan, aims to give relevance and visibility to a sector that is rarely explored from the perspective of legal science, especially from an international dimension.<\/p>\n

The course is co-directed by the president of the Superior Court of Justice of Extremadura, Mar\u00eda F\u00e9lix Tena Arag\u00f3n, and the director of Yuste Foundation, Juan Carlos Moreno. It is organised in collaboration with the Notarial College of Extremadura and the College of Registrars of Property, Mercantile, and Movable Goods of Spain.<\/p>\n
