\"\"<\/a>The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation and the Iberian Film Festival of Badajoz invite young residents in Extremadura, aged between 18 and 30, to join the Young Jury, which will be responsible for awarding the Luis Alcoriza Award at the 30th<\/sup> Iberian Film Festival, to be held in July in Badajoz, Olivenza, and San Vicente de Alc\u00e1ntara.<\/strong> (31\/05\/2024).<\/p>\n

Once again, with this activity, the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation and the Iberian Film Festival of Badajoz promote youth participation in the audiovisual and cinematographic world.<\/p>\n

DEADLINE UNTIL JUNE 20<\/p>\n

Those interested in becoming a member of the Young Jury can register until June 20 via the form available on the festival\u2019s website https:\/\/festivaldecine.com\/. After registration, the event organisation will conduct a cinematographic analysis test of a short film for the registered participants to ensure the competence and suitability of the selected jury.<\/p>\n

Based on this test, the organisation will select the young people who will ultimately form the jury responsible for awarding the Luis Alcoriza Award to the best short film in the official section. The selected group must attend all official sessions of the Short Film Competition, which will be screened from July 8 to 12 in Badajoz. Additionally, they will be able to participate for free in all Festival activities and will receive a certificate recognising their role as Young Jury members at the 30th<\/sup> Iberian Film Festival.<\/p>\n

AN AWARD THAT PAYS TRIBUTE TO LUIS ALCORIZA<\/p>\n

Naming the Young Jury Award after Luis Alcoriza pays tribute to this director, screenwriter, and actor born in Badajoz, who became one of the greatest figures in Mexican cinema.<\/p>\n

Alcoriza (1918-1992) became one of the leading figures in Mexican cinema. His screenwriting career includes notable collaborations with Luis Bu\u00f1uel on key films such as \u201cLos olvidados\u201d (1950) and \u201cEl \u00e1ngel exterminador\u201d (1962). As a director, his varied production includes films that have been reassessed over time, such as the Mexican film \u201cTlayucan\u201d (1962), which was nominated for an Oscar for best foreign language film.<\/p>\n
