\"\"<\/a>Once again, the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation has organised a new series of \u201cEmperor\u2019s Music\u201d concerts along with the Patrimonio Nacional. They will be held this Saturday, 21st September, and the following Saturday, 28th September, both at 13:00 pm.<\/strong> (17\/09\/2024).<\/p>\n

\u201cAve Virgo\u201d by Francisco Guerrero is the title of the first musical programme to be performed by the quintet \u201cA5 Vocal Ensemble\u201d. This composer is among the most renowned Spanish composers of the Renaissance and is the only one who practiced his profession in Seville, which helped establish him as the most popular and esteemed composer of his generation in Spain. With this collection of five-voice works, the musical group aims to pay homage to this famed Sevillian composer. Given the strong Marian tradition of Seville, some of the selected pieces revolve around the figure of the Virgin Mary, as reflected in the monumental works that open and close the programme: \u201cAve Virgo sanctissima\u201d and \u201cO Virgo benedicta.\u201d<\/p>\n

The A5 Vocal Ensemble is an established group on the national early music scene. It has participated in festivals and concert series in various Spanish provinces. Its uniqueness lies in its almost exclusive performance of five-voice works in choir format and in the distinctly Spanish and emotional character of its interpretations.<\/p>\n

The concert programme for the 28th of September is entitled \u201cM\u00fasica de la Corte Espa\u00f1ola en tiempos de Vel\u00e1zquez\u201d and will be performed by the vocal and instrumental early music ensemble \u201cLa Grande Chapelle\u201d, which has been recognised with various awards for its artistic quality and excellence. Since its founding in 2005, the group has sought to explore the relationship between music and literature of Spain\u2019s Golden Age and to revive the work of the most prominent Spanish composers of the Renaissance and Baroque periods.<\/p>\n

The programme they will perform includes a selection of pieces by the most representative composers of the Spanish Court in the 17th century, focusing on a series of exquisite Baroque works that express the emotions contained in the poetic texts of the Golden Age of Spanish literature, through music.<\/p>\n
