\"\"<\/a>The third edition of the course on \u201cIbero-American and European Agricultural and Livestock Law\u201d, organised by the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation and the General Council of the Judiciary, under the agreement signed between both institutions, brings together judges, notaries, registrars, and legal professionals from Spain and Ibero-America on 11 and 12 March at the Royal Monastery of Santa Mar\u00eda de Guadalupe.<\/strong> (11\/02\/2025)<\/p>\n

During the opening, the secretary-general for Equality and Reconciliation of the Regional Government of Extremadura, Ara S\u00e1nchez Vera, spoke, highlighting the value of the primary sector for Extremadura both in the past and in the 21st<\/sup> century. \u201cIt is necessary to look back and reconsider the need to give the importance it deserves to both the countryside and animal products, because we still depend on the products of the land to survive\u201d, she stated.<\/p>\n

S\u00e1nchez Vera also mentioned that the excellent organisation of the event and the positive response it has received over the last two years have made this course one of the best-rated offerings from the judiciary, and it has now become part of the Continuing Education Plan of the General Council of the Judiciary.<\/p>\n

During the inaugural event, Mar\u00eda F\u00e9lix Tena Arag\u00f3n, president of the Superior Court of Justice of Extremadura, also spoke, recalling the legal work of the Extremaduran Gregorio L\u00f3pez and Lebr\u00f3n de Qui\u00f1ones in Ibero-America. Furthermore, she highlighted agricultural and livestock law as a \u201cliving subject, whose branches spread towards each jurisdiction, with a plural and varied vision that demands cross-disciplinary approaches\u201d.<\/p>\n

The territorial member of the General Council of the Judiciary, In\u00e9s Herreros Hern\u00e1ndez, emphasised that \u201cone of the main responsibilities of the Council is rigorous, technical training that adapts to the new needs that arise\u201d.<\/p>\n

This annual gathering of legal specialists provides a unique opportunity to advance the study of this sector, which is certainly underexplored from the perspective of legal science. This year, the conference and roundtable discussions will focus on topics such as the figure of the farmer, contracts in the field, agricultural insurance, and the challenges and issues facing the Common Agricultural Policy. Experts from Navarra, Madrid, Extremadura, the Canary Islands, Zaragoza, and Puerto Rico will participate.<\/p>\n

The course is supported by the Notarial College of Extremadura and the College of Property, Commercial, and Movable Goods Registrars of Spain.<\/p>\n
