This book compiles the contributions made to the Doctoral Seminar on “The European Union and the Principle of Solidarity”, which was organised by European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation from 24 to 26 November 2021. Its contents cover different research areas, including the lines proposed in the title of this publication from a rich and diverse perspective: the trajectory from social relations to the legal principle and the conflicting dimensions of EU solidarity; the forms and levels of solidarity in the EU; the financial and fiscal perspectives of the principle of solidarity from the Coronavirus Response Investment to the NextGenerationEU; immigration policies and attitudes towards immigration in Europe; the management of the Spanish southern border in terms of migration and asylum; the EU\u2019s role in peace-building with a focus on the case of Colombia; international cooperation as a manifestation of the principle of solidarity, analysing EU cooperation through projects on the right to education in Colombia; the role of freedom of movement and Brexit in mobility decisions and migratory experiences; the Polar Silk Road as a Euro-Sino economic, political and geo-strategic challenge; or drones as tools at the service of the EU\u2019s civil protection mechanism.<\/p>\n
