The musical ensemble Carmina Terrarum will perform next Saturday, 20 September, at 1 p.m. at the Monastery of San Jer\u00f3nimo de Yuste, as part of the Emperor\u2019s Concert Series organised by the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation together with Patrimonio Nacional. <\/strong>(16\/09\/2025)<\/p>\n

The programme, entitled \u201cEl coraz\u00f3n del cancionero: cancioneros espa\u00f1oles y portugueses\u201d, offers an engaging and varied journey through some of the most representative songbooks of both the Spanish and Portuguese Renaissance. It features works by Luis de Mil\u00e1n, from the Cancionero de Elvas, the Cancionero de Par\u00eds, and the Cancionero de Palacio.<\/p>\n

These pieces will be performed in an entertaining and enlightening concert that will reflect much of the concerns and way of life of the peoples of the Iberian Peninsula during the Renaissance. Among the works to be performed are \u201cNi\u00f1o Dios d\u2019amor herido\u201d, \u201cD\u00f3nde est\u00e1s se\u00f1ora m\u00eda\u201d, \u201cFalau ni\u00f1a amor\u201d, and \u201cRecercada sobre la Spagna\u201d, among others.<\/p>\n

Carmina Terrarum emerged from the collaboration of a trio of experienced performers based in Seville: An\u00edbal Soriano, C\u00e9sar Carazo, and Cristina Bay\u00f3n, all specialising in and dedicated to the concert performance and scholarly dissemination of Early Music. The ensemble is an artistic project that seeks to explore programmes recreating borderland music across both space and time, spanning the former kingdoms of the Iberian Peninsula and the transition from the Renaissance to the Baroque.<\/p>\n
