Director Fernando Pizarro plans meetings with the Provincial Councils and the mayors of Extremadura\u2019s provincial capitals.<\/strong> (07\/08\/2026)<\/p>\n

The director of the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation, Fernando Pizarro, has begun a series of meetings with regional and national institutions aimed at strengthening existing partnerships while also exploring new avenues for cooperation, with a view to laying the groundwork for future projects within the Foundation\u2019s areas of activity.<\/p>\n

As part of this initiative, Pizarro met with the rector of the University of Extremadura, Pedro M. Fern\u00e1ndez Salguero, to explore new forms of collaboration with one of Extremadura\u2019s leading institutions, which is also a member of the Foundation\u2019s Board of Trustees.<\/p>\n

Among the issues discussed was the importance of education in building the Ibero-American community, exploring ways to promote greater collaboration between students and academic staff in Yuste Foundation’s activities.<\/p>\n

As part of this initial round of meetings, and following a series of meetings with representatives of the Regional Government of Extremadura, Fernando Pizarro has also met with institutional, academic and religious representatives. During his recent visit to Guadalupe, the director of Yuste Foundation met with the town\u2019s mayor, Jos\u00e9 Miguel Mart\u00edn, and with the guardian and custodian of the Royal Monastery of Santa Mar\u00eda de Guadalupe, friar Vidal Rodr\u00edguez. This emblematic monastery hosts numerous conferences and seminars organised by Yuste Foundation, owing to its close historical links with the origins of the encounter between Extremadura and the Americas.<\/p>\n

Pizarro has also met with Elvira Prado, Patrimonio Nacional\u2019s representative at the Monastery of San Jer\u00f3nimo de Yuste, and with Father Crist\u00f3bal, Prior of the Pauline Order residing at the monastery. Further meetings are planned in the coming weeks with the Provincial Councils, the mayors of Badajoz, C\u00e1ceres and M\u00e9rida, and the president of the High Court of Justice of Extremadura, Mar\u00eda F\u00e9lix Tena.<\/p>\n
