\"\"Jos\u00e9 Antonio Monago, President of the Government of Extremadura and Chairman of the Board of the European Academy of Yuste Foundation, has presided over the meeting of the Board of the European Academy of Yuste Foundation, during which it has been announced that twenty-two candidatures from seven countries in the European Union have been submitted for the Carlos V European Award.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A jury made up of nineteen renowned European figures will meet to deliberate over the nominations received, which include personalities from the worlds of politics, science, culture and society.<\/p>\n

The Carlos V European Award is one of the most prestigious awards in the European field, recognizing the work of people who, with their effort and dedication, have contributed to the general awareness and enhancement of the cultural, scientific, social and historical values of Europe and the process of European unification. Until now Jacques Delors, Wilfried Martens, Felipe Gonz\u00e1lez, Mikhail Gorbachev, Jorge Sampaio, Helmut Kohl, Simone Veil, Javier Solana and Jos\u00e9 Manuel Dur\u00e3o Barroso have received the award.<\/p>\n

The European Academy of Yuste Foundation increases its budget by 56% for 2015<\/strong><\/p>\n

Similarly, the Board has approved the Foundation budget for the 2015 financial year, which will see an increase of 56% in comparison with 2014, thanks to the support of the Government of Extremadura.<\/p>\n

With the above resources, the Foundation budget stands at 925,000 euros, allowing it to continue with its financial restructuring process and the fulfilment of its viability plan, approved in July 2013.<\/p>\n

In 2015 the European Academy of Yuste Foundation will further the consolidation of its activities, especially Campus Yuste, a space for university students and professionals, with training, debate and plural reflection on current-day issues from a multidisciplinary perspective.<\/p>\n

During the past year, 90 conferences and round tables have been held within the framework of Campus Yuste, with the participation of 151 speakers and more than 300 students.<\/p>\n
