The courses were held at the Royal Monastery of Yuste, the Foundation&#8217;s headquarters.<\/p>\n<p>Starting in June, the first course, \u2018III Yuste Dialogues, debating religion, secular society and violence\u2019 was organised together with Salamanca Pontifical University. Next was \u2018Prospects, strategies and challenges of the European Union: conflict and safety threats in a global context\u2019 from 29th June to 1st July, followed by \u2018The European integration process: 30 years of European Union in Spain and Portugal (1986-2016)\u2019 from 6th to the 8th July, with support from M\u00f3dulo Jean Monnet at the University of Extremadura. The final course was \u2018Hispanic kingdoms from Fernando the Catholic to Carlos V: European and American political and cultural projection\u2019, from 13th to 15th July, organised together with the University of Extremadura, with additional support from The Extremaduran Centre for Study and Cooperation with Ibero-America (CEXECI). The European Academy of Yuste Foundation also hosted an informative talk as part of the \u2018Cultural and tourism management on European cultural routes\u2019 course on the second Transnational Meeting of the Cultour+ project.<\/p>\n<p>Students attending the course, who received grants to cover fees, accommodation and living expenses, came from almost all Spanish universities as well as others such as the University of Oxford (UK) and Alejandro de Humboldt University (Venezuela).\u00a0 The majority of speakers came from Spanish and European universities, although journalists, national politicians and other civil society representatives also participated.<\/p>\n<p>Both students and speakers gave positive feedback about both the organisation of the course, the content covered, and participating teachers. They also spoke positively about their stay in the area, with the majority saying \u201cthey hope to do the same again next year\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The European Academy of Yuste Foundation is putting on another course at Campus Yuste in October, with the title \u2018Cultural politics in Europe in light of integration challenges: citizen participation, active citizenship, and European identity\u2019: the deadline for submitting applications for the thirty grants available is 23rd September.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CAMPUS YUSTE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Campus Yuste was set up by the European Academy of Yuste to provide a unique setting for training programmes centred on encouraging debate and reflection on European issues between undergraduates, researchers and professionals. Based in the Royal Monastery of Yuste, it is a unique place where speakers and students can exchange opinions.<br \/>\nIn 2015, Campus Yuste hosted 90 conferences and round-table events with 150 speakers and over 300 students. In April this year, Campus Yuste held the \u2018VII Yuste Encounters on the Spanish transition to democracy\u2019, this year with the title &#8216;Culture and the media in democratic Spain and their projection towards Europe\u2019\u2019. An exhibition entitled \u2018Interpreters in Nuremberg\u2019 will also be held at Campus Yuste this year as part of the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the Nuremberg trials, at the European Academy of Yuste headquarters until 30th October 2016.<\/p>\n<p>All the lectures and interviews held at Campus Yuste can be viewed on the Foundation\u2019s Youtube channel.
