Paul Preston<\/h2>

\u00a0Sill\u00f3n Marcel Proust <\/strong><\/p>

Doctor en historia por la Universidad de Oxford. Entre 1973 y 1991 imparti\u00f3 clases en la Universidad de Reading, en el Centro de Estudios Mediterr\u00e1neos de Roma y en el Queen Mary College de la Universidad de Londres. En 1991, pas\u00f3 a la London School of Economics & Political Science como catedr\u00e1tico de historia internacional, dirigiendo a partir de 1994 el centro Ca\u00f1ada Blanch para el estudio de la Espa\u00f1a Contempor\u00e1nea de la misma universidad. En 1994, fue elegido miembro de la British Academy. Este historiador hispanista se ha especializo en los temas de la guerra civil y la \u00e9poca franquista.<\/p>

Entre sus obras destacan: \u2018La destrucci\u00f3n de la democracia en Espa\u00f1a\u2019 (1978); \u2018El triunfo de la democracia en Espa\u00f1a\u2019 (1986); \u2018Las tres Espa\u00f1as del 36\u2019 (2001); \u2018Palomas de guerra\u2019 (2001). Una de sus \u00faltimas obras, publicada en 2003, es la biograf\u00eda del Rey Juan Carlos titulada \u2018Juan Carlos: el rey de un pueblo\u2019. En abril de 2006 ha publicado una nueva versi\u00f3n de su obra \u2018La Guerra Civil\u2019. Visita Espa\u00f1a con frecuencia y es comentarista de la actualidad y la historia espa\u00f1olas tanto para los medios de comunicaci\u00f3n espa\u00f1oles como los brit\u00e1nicos.<\/p>
