Doctor en Filosof\u00eda y Letras, archivero del Palacio Real de Bruselas. Miembro de la Real Comisi\u00f3n de la Historia de B\u00e9lgica, y de la Real Comisi\u00f3n para la edici\u00f3n de las antiguas leyes y ordenanzas de B\u00e9lgica. El doctor Janssens naci\u00f3 en Amberes en 1948. Estudi\u00f3 historia moderna y filosof\u00eda (universidades de Amberes UFSIA y de Lovaina \u2013 KU Leuven). Despu\u00e9s de un mandato de cuatro a\u00f1os como investigador del \u201cFondo Nacional belga de Investigaciones Cient\u00edficas\u201d y tres a\u00f1os de asistencia cient\u00edfica al departamento de Historia Moderna de la KU Leuven, el Dr. Janssens se doctor\u00f3 en 1981 con una tesis sobre la oposici\u00f3n leal contra la pol\u00edtica de Felipe II en Flandes entre 1567\u2013 1578.<\/p>

En 1982 el Dr. Janssens entr\u00f3 al servicio de la administraci\u00f3n de los archivos estatales belgas. Desde 1988 es archivero del Palacio Real de Bruselas.<\/p>

En 1997 y en el a\u00f1o 2000 el Dr. Janssens particip\u00f3 tanto en B\u00e9lgica como en Espa\u00f1a en los congresos de conmemoraci\u00f3n de los centenarios de Felipe II y de Carlos V. En el a\u00f1o 2000 el Dr. Janssens fue nombrado profesor de Archiv\u00edstica de la KU Leuven<\/p>

Las investigaciones y publicaciones del Dr. Janssens se desarrollan en tres campos:<\/p>

1\u00ba la archiv\u00edstica<\/p>

2\u00ba la historia pol\u00edtica, religiosa y cultural de los Pa\u00edses Bajos del siglo xvi.<\/p>

3\u00ba la monarqu\u00eda en B\u00e9lgica y la historia contempor\u00e1nea belga.<\/p>
