Mstislav Rostropovich<\/h2>

\u00a0Sill\u00f3n Dante Alighieri <\/strong><\/p>

Violonchelista sovi\u00e9tico, director de orquesta, pianista y compositor, nacido en Bak\u00fa, Azerbaiyan, ex-rep\u00fablica de la antigua Uni\u00f3n Sovi\u00e9tica, el 27 de marzo de 1927. A la edad de cuatro a\u00f1os empez\u00f3 a tocar el piano con su madre y poco despu\u00e9s empez\u00f3 a estudiar el violonchelo con su padre. Continu\u00f3 bajo la tutor\u00eda de su padre en el Escuela Central de M\u00fasica de Mosc\u00fa y despu\u00e9s en el Conservatorio de Mosc\u00fa, donde adem\u00e1s de sus estudios de piano y violonchelo empez\u00f3 sus estudios como director de orquesta. Debut\u00f3 tocando el chelo en 1942 a la edad de 15 a\u00f1os y fue reconocido inmediatamente como un gran artista. Cuando termin\u00f3 la guerra su reputaci\u00f3n pronto sali\u00f3 de la Uni\u00f3n Sovi\u00e9tica, especialmente gracias a sus grabaciones, y cuando empez\u00f3 a tocar en los pa\u00edses occidentales estuvo claro que en Rostropovich el mundo ten\u00eda al sucesor natural del gran Pablo Casals, qui\u00e9n hab\u00eda sido considerado el mejor int\u00e9rprete de chelo durante m\u00e1s de medio siglo.

En 1955 Rostropovich se cas\u00f3 con Galina Vishnevskaya, la soprano principal de la \u00d3pera Bolshoi de Mosc\u00fa.<\/p>

Aunque su talento oper\u00edstico era sobradamente conocido en los escenarios, fue su colaboraci\u00f3n con Rostropovich en sus recitales la que la lanz\u00f3 internacionalmente, tanto en concierto como en grabaci\u00f3n, como la principal int\u00e9rprete de canciones rusas. Las habilidades de Rostropovich con el piano tambi\u00e9n se hicieron patentes y trabaj\u00f3 con su mujer en una gran cantidad de canciones, incluyendo \"Songs of Dances of Death\" de Mussorgsky. Los nombres de Rostropovich y Vishnevskaya se han unido de tal forma que representan una de las mejores y m\u00e1s celebradas parejas del mundo.<\/p>

Rostropovich tambi\u00e9n se ha ganado una gran reputaci\u00f3n como director, apareciendo con la mayor\u00eda de las mejores orquestas del mundo, as\u00ed como dirigiendo y grabando muchas \u00f3peras, como Queen of Spades, Eugene Onegin, Lady Macbeth de Mtsensk y Tosca. Desde 1977 ha sido el director musical de la Orquesta Sinf\u00f3nica Nacional de Washington.<\/p>
