Escritor y autor dram\u00e1tico, portavoz de la Carta 77, mayor personaje de los cambios de la Revoluci\u00f3n de terciopelo en noviembre de 1989, \u00faltimo Presidente de Checoslovakia y primer Presidente de la Rep\u00fablica Checa.<\/p>

Durante los a\u0148os del r\u00e9gimen totalitario, V\u00e1clav Havel se volvi\u00f3 en la muy respetada autoridad moral. Por la profundidad de sus pensamientos sobre los problemas de la civilizaci\u00f3n actual y por el razonamiento de sus formulaci\u00f3nes consigui\u00f3 mantener la posici\u00f3n de la autoridad respetada tambi\u00e9n despu\u00e9s de su elecci\u00f3n como Presidente, poco com\u00fan entre los pol\u00edticos.<\/p>

Por sus obras literarias, por su pensamiento y su esfuerzo de toda su vida para proteger los derechos humanos, V\u00e1clav Havel obtuvo numerosas condecoraci\u00f3nes, premios internacionales y t\u00edtulos honor\u00edficos.<\/p>

Despu\u00e9s de su salida de la alta pol\u00edtica se dedica a los derechos humanos en el mundo y a su agenda literaria.<\/p>

Con su segunda esposa (la primera falleci\u00f3 en 1996), con la cual co-fund\u00f3 la Fundaci\u00f3n de V\u00e1clav y Dagmar Havel -Visi\u00f3n\u00b497, apoyan numerosos proyectos humanitarios, sanitarios y educativos.<\/p>

En 1994 recibi\u00f3 la Medalla de la Libertad. El 11 de abril de 1997 recibi\u00f3 el Premio Pr\u00edncipe de Asturias de Comunicaci\u00f3n y Humanidades.<\/p>
