Yuste Foundation and the Ministry of Defence Are Organising Sessions to Analyse the Role of the Armed Forces in Ibero-America

The “2nd Sessions on Security and Defence in the Ibero-American Space”, organised by the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence, will be held on 18 and 19 September in the afternoon at the Caja Almendralejo assembly hall in Cáceres. Topics to be discussed include the role of the Armed Forces in managing irregular immigration, the relationship between organised crime and the State in Ibero-America, and the fight against drug trafficking in the Ibero-American space.

Close to 600 students from 22 countries have enrolled in the 2024 Campus Yuste courses

Close to 600 students from 22 countries have enrolled in the training programme Campus Yuste, which is organised by the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation, as part of the 25th International Summer/Autumn Courses of the University of Extremadura. Of the 578 registered individuals, 218 participated either in person or online.

Abel Bautista Advocates for Increasing Trade Relations Between Extremadura and Latin America

The regional minister for Presidency, Interior, and Social Dialogue, Abel Bautista, closed the course “European Union – Latin America and the Caribbean Relations: New Times and Renewed Commitments” this Thursday. The course was held at the Monastery of San Jerónimo de Yuste as part of Campus Yuste and was attended by over 70 students from 14 countries. Also present at the closing ceremony were the regional minister for Culture, Tourism, Youth, and Sports, Victoria Bazaga, and the director general for External Action, Pablo Hurtado.

Experts and Students at Campus Yuste Reflect on Relaunching Euro-Latin American Relations

The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation aims to contribute to the promotion and consolidation of existing ties between Extremadura, Europe, and Ibero-America. In line with this goal, the Foundation organised the course “European Union-Latin America and the Caribbean Relations: New Times and Renewed Commitments” along with the EU-LAC Foundation in order to analyse “how to strengthen relations between these two regions to promote multilateralism and combat the challenges that constantly threaten us, with the aim of strengthening our democracies and creating certainties”. This was stated by Pablo Hurtado Pardo, director general of External Action of the Regional Government of Extremadura and member of Yuste Foundation’s board of trustees, during the course’s inauguration.
