The former president of Portugal, Jorge Sampaio, winner of the European Carlos V Award in 2004, has died at the age of 81.

On Monday, the president of Regional Government of Extremadura and the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation, Guillermo Fernández Vara, advocated “understanding the role we must play from Spain and also from the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste, better than ever; that of serving as a bridge between the European Union and Latin America”

Aiming to analyse the current situation and seeking answers within the framework of the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs, as well as examining the development of a renewed agenda in the relations between the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean that contributes to addressing common challenges, the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation and EU-LAC Foundation are organising the course “European Union-Latin American and the Caribbean Relations: A Renewed Agenda and a Programme for Recovery under the SDGs”
