The European Academy of Yuste Foundation is once again participating in the Conference on Legal Translation for International Organisations, organised by the University of Salamanca (USAL). The conference is into its seventh year this year, and will take place from 20-24 March at USAL’s Translation and Interpreting Department.

Juan Carlos Moreno, Director of the European Academy of Yuste Foundation, Raquel Medina, Mayor of Navalmoral de la Mata, and Mehrad Alizadeh, CEPAIM-Extremadura Coordinator, today presented their project entitled ‘The European Union: a history of values and human rights’.

Rosa Balas Torres, President of the European Academy of Yuste Foundation’s Executive Committee, and Chief Executive of External Action for the Regional Government of Extremadura, received the Gran Cruz de la Orden Civil de Alfonso X el Sabio yesterday on behalf of Italian professor, Sofia Corradi, in a ceremony presided over by the Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy.

Tzvetan Todorov, philosopher, historian, sociologist, and philologist, and member of the European Academy of Yuste, died in Paris aged 77. Todorov was a member of the European Academy of Yuste from 2008, when he took the Rousseau Chair during a Carlos V European Award ceremony for the French politician Simone Veil, the European Parliament’s first female president.
