Campus Yuste Examines the New World Order Following Donald Trump’s Arrival at the White House
The decisions taken by Donald Trump since his arrival at the White House have brought about a major shift in the structure of international relations as we have known them until now. In order to shed light on the ongoing transformation of global geopolitics and its economic consequences, the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation has organised the course “The New World Order and the Atlantic Axis”, which will take place at the Monastery of San Jerónimo de Yuste from 16 to 18 July, as part of the Campus Yuste programme, itself integrated into the University of Extremadura’s International Summer/Autumn Courses. (14/07/2025)
The programme content will address current issues of concern to society, such as drug trafficking and terrorism, the relationship between the US administration and the war in Ukraine, and the impact of decisions taken across the Atlantic on the European Union in general and Spain in particular. It will also examine the extent to which peace may be affected, and what global scenario lies ahead in the coming months.
Former vice-president of the European Commission and recipient of the 2025 Carlos V European Award, Josep Borrell; president of the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico, José Antonio Frontera; director of the Elcano Royal Institute, Charles Powell; MEP and president of the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly (DLAT), Gabriel Mato; secretary-general of the Consejo España-EEUU Foundation, Fernando Prieto; member of the Spanish Parliament, Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo; and former Spanish minister of Foreign Affairs and visiting professor at Georgetown University, Ana Palacio, are among the speakers who will be sharing their knowledge and insights with both in-person and online students from Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Spain, the United States, Italy, Mexico, Nicaragua, Sweden and Uruguay.
