ACTIVIDADES
3rd Sessions on Security and Defence in the Ibero-American Space
30 September and 1 October 2025. Assembly Hall of the Defence Subdelegation (Cáceres)
The Ministry of Defence promotes the development of a defence culture with the aim of ensuring that Spanish society knows, values, and identifies with its history and with the collective and effective effort through which the Armed Forces safeguard national interests. Fostering awareness and a culture of defence is a priority objective. Bringing defence closer to citizens is an essential part of the culture of National Security, as a means of achieving a society that is both committed and actively engaged in its security.
The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation aims to contribute to the promotion of democracy, respect for human rights, the fostering of peace and international harmony, as well as the integral, harmonious, balanced and sustainable development of all the peoples and nations of the world, particularly through the promotion of culture, research, the dissemination of knowledge and social integration.
The Ministry of Defence and the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation have been working together for years in the organisation of joint academic activities, among which the defence conferences devoted to Europe and Ibero-America as geographical areas of study are of particular significance.
The European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation organises the Sessions on Security in Ibero-America, under the umbrella of the SCHOOL OF GUADALUPE, with the aim of promoting dialogue on security and defence policy, including the new threats and challenges of the international strategic scenario, with particular attention to Europe and Ibero-America, as well as the adaptation and response of the Armed Forces to new challenges.
The SCHOOL OF GUADALUPE was created as a result of various activities organised by the Foundation within the framework of the event of exceptional public interest, the “Holy Year of Guadalupe”, the aim of which is to promote and invigorate local culture and tourism through the recovery, appreciation and dissemination of cultural and natural heritage, the promotion of religious initiatives such as the pilgrimage route, and the strengthening of ties with Ibero-America.
Attendance

The two sessions may be followed in person or online via the Yuste Foundation’s YouTube channel.
