The European Academy of Yuste Foundation’s Board of Trustees has agreed to commence its merger with the Extremaduran Centre for Study and Cooperation with Ibero-America (CEXECI) on Friday.
The Governing Board must first ratify the agreement before both foundations can give the go ahead for the amendment of their statutes, and their integration into a new foundation which will be known as the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation.
The participating foundations are well aware of the significant amount of public interest they both pursue and represent, as well as the history and general recognition they have each built up in their respective fields over their years of operation.
Working jointly together and integrating their heritages and resources will allow not only an accumulation of potential, but will also lead to a substantial increase in the foundations’ opportunities to reach more ambitious goals.
By joining together the two foundations’ different focuses: the European vocation of the European Academy of Yuste Foundation, and the Ibero-American vocation of the Extremaduran Centre for Study and Cooperation, the resulting institution will be a truly powerful bridge of union between territories, spaces, and cultures.
The merger will happen by absorption with the absorbing entity being the European Academy of Yuste Foundation. This approach is being taken due to the level of international recognition held by the Carlos V European Award which in turn demonstrates the level of recognition held by the European Academy of Yuste.
This level of recognition is the best fit in terms of channelling the optimum creation of a strengthened foundation: one which will operate as a vehicle for the transfer of knowledge and ideas between Europe, Extremadura, and Ibero-America.
