Meeting of the project “Integrating European Values into Cultural Heritage” at Minas de Almadén

The Royal Miners’ Hospital of San Rafael and the Parque Minero de Almadén hosted the IVEPC Meeting (Integrating European Values into Cultural Heritage) on 16 and 17 October 2025.  (16/10/2025)

The event aimed to explore strategies for better integrating European values into sites awarded the European Heritage Label. It brought together managers of these sites, experts, institutional representatives and academics to discuss ways of strengthening visibility and cooperation among European heritage sites.

The programme included reflections on territorial identity, sustainable cultural tourism, communication and governance, as well as guided visits to the Parque Minero de Almadén and the Royal Miners’ Hospital of San Rafael and its archive to identify the European dimension of these sites.

In addition, participants addressed current challenges and were introduced to new digital tools designed to bring heritage closer to citizens and promote the
European values embodied by these sites as part of a shared European heritage. The meeting also fostered cooperation and the transmission of values through cultural activities, networking and training.

The IVEPC project, organised by the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation and Patrimonio Nacional, in collaboration with Minas de Almadén, is co-funded by the European Union under the Creative Europe programme and supported by the EHL-Bureau.
