This Monday, the European Academy of Yuste Foundation Board of Trustees recommended the nomination of Juan Carlos Moreno Piñero as Managing Director of the Foundation to the Council of the Regional Government of Extremadura.
Members of the Board decided to put forward their proposal in a meeting headed by the President of the Regional Government of Extremadura, Guillermo Fernández Vara, also attended by Isabel Gil Rosiña, spokesperson of the Regional Executive; José Luis Navarro, Economic and Infrastructure Minister; and Esther Gutiérrez, Education and Employment Minister.
Juan Carlos Moreno Piñero is a Doctor of Law at the University of Extremadura, a graduate of Law specialising in Private Law from the University of Seville, and holds a Diploma from the Seville School of Forensics Practice.
After three years as a judge, he has dedicated himself to legal practice, having been an external legal counsel for over ten years in different public bodies.
He is a university professor and has had a wide range of experience in the field of foundations, in terms of both research and management roles.
According to Article 14.2 of the Foundation’s regulations, the Managing Director will be responsible for overall management, for the purposes of Law 1/2014 of the 18th February; for regulation of the Government Statute for Public Office and the Extremadura Administration; and will be subject to the regulations surrounding conflicts of interest and responsibilities expected of staff according to Article 18 of the regulation mentioned previously.
